With a slow start to the week, it seemed like 2024 was destined to ease us into the new year. But like the industry at large, the gaming news keeps up the pace. Check out the roundup below.

We looked at Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes December 2023 update. There was also an update on Sword of the Necromancer for December 2023 as well. You can take a look ahead for Xbox in 2024. We even told you our most anticipated games of 2024.

Then the slow, smooth start of 2024 turned into a lurching stumble. Bossa Studios, makers of I am Bread and I am Fish laid off around 20 developers, as reported by Tech Raptor. They also noted that VR studio Archiact, who made Doom 3 VR Edition and Freediver: Triton Town, laid off many of its developers as well. Hopefully, the continuing loss of jobs in the game sector stops, and these developers can land new jobs swiftly. With the games industry projected to grow by billions of dollars, hopefully we see the developers get a bigger bag as well.
