The three games coming to the Essential Tier include the following; Ascension Games’ magic shooter Immortals of Aveum, Microsoft’s Minecraft Legends and Southpaw Game’s Skul: The Hero Slayer.

In addition to these three titles, players can get free DLC bundle for Overwatch 2 focused on it’s latest season. The perks for the Overwatch 2 bundle includes the following:

– Punker Queen Junker Queen Epic Skin

– Construction Ramattra Epic Skin

– Matsuri Kiriko Epic Skin

– Cassia Lifeweaver Epic Skin

– Amethyst Illari Epic Skin

– Rugby Mauga Epic Skin

– 5x Battle Pass Tier Skips

Considering what’s included, this is a major bonus for those interested in trying out the free-to-play shooter.

Significance of Minecraft Legends’ Inclusion

I specifically want to highlight Minecraft Legends being part of the service. This is a title that launched into Game Pass when it released and while Minecraft is huge on other platforms, the franchise is a Xbox IP.  Other Microsoft-owned games joined PlayStation Plus over the years, including other Minecraft games. But that was years after launch or games already part of the services like Bethesda titles.

Part of me wonders if other Xbox titles on PlayStation join the service. A title like Pentiment would be very much at home within PlayStation Plus, considering it’s more experimental nature. Or something like the upcoming PlayStation version of Grounded, due to it’s multiplayer focus.

Another possible reason for Minecraft Legends coming to PS Plus could be boosting DLC sales as well. Regardless, this is something worth keeping an eye on as more Xbox titles make there way over to PlayStation.

Closing Thoughts

Very much pleased seeing Immortals of Aveum coming to a service like PlayStation Plus. I played through the first levels and genuinely enjoyed the magic-focused shooting. In addition, the Marvel-esc writing appealed to me and it is a game I intend on playing through at some point or another. Hopefully it being on Plus encourages people to give it a fair chance. The title released in a very busy time in 2023, launching a month out from Baldur’s Gate 3, so many were busy with other titles at the time.

But what are you’re thoughts on these inclusions? And what games do you think will come to the Premium and Extra Tiers this month? Let us know in the comments below!
