With the release of Protea Prime in Warframe, came her signature pistol, Velox Prime. But to cap it all off, they gave her a pair of dual daggers, called the Okina Prime. The original version of Okina first came with the Specters of the Rails update. Which was a very meaty update that made significant changes to the overall progression system. So, with this primed version out, does it make the Okina more relevant in the current meta? Before we begin however, I would like to go over my build for it.
Okina Prime Build and Impressions in Warframe
Below is the build I have for the Okina Prime:
There is not a whole lot you can really do with these. Considering they do not have unique function. They do have really high attack speed and you can equally mix in status and critical mods like I did. But I never felt the need to use the umbral mods in the build, they could help the critical chance go higher, but it was not a priority. The Okina Prime in Warframe is solely designed to deal out large amounts of damage and that is what Melee Exposure is for. I am using these with Protea Prime herself and being given 2.5x more damage as corrosive for endgame content has been very helpful with her ability spam.
Compared to the original Okina, the Okina Prime boasts the following from the Warframe Wikipedia entry:
- Higher base damage (184.00 vs 140)
- Higher base critical chance (30.00% vs. 16.00%)
- Higher base critical multiplier (2.60x vs. 2.00x)
- Higher base status chance (24.00% vs. 20.00%)
- Higher attack speed (1.17 vs. 1.08)
- One More polarities (Two V’s vs 1 V)
- Lower Riven disposition (0.50x) vs (1.40x))
Overall, however, Okina Prime is very strong. But a little boring as a melee weapon. Most new melee weapons that come out usually have a quirk to them, but Okina is just a pair of standard daggers and for the majority of the player base that will use it? That is a-okay. But I hope this build helps you in Warframe, Tenno!
