Following Protea Prime on the 1st of this month. Velox Prime, the upgraded version of her signature pistol, is now available to everyone in Warframe. Just like the original version, it has Ammo Efficiency, which gives a chance for ammo not to be spent. But before we get into that and more. Let us go over the build that I have for it, then dive into the rest!
Velox Prime Build and Impressions in Warframe
Below is the build I have for it:

For starters, it is a very status-focused weapon. So, I invested in three different status effects. Corrosive and Radiation are exceptional against armored foes. Fire adds a little bit of damage over time for most foes, especially infested. But outside of that, this is a very standard build for general use in Warframe. I went for Cascadia Flare because the extra 480% damage boost is extremely noticeable, and when used with Protea, her turrets can build up that bonus. Spry Sights also adds a little mobility when aiming to make sure she can still be very quick to dance around enemies while shooting them.
Below is the general stat comparison between Velox and the Prime version:

So, there is slight damage, status, and magazine boost, and honestly, it is pretty noticeable with my build. The higher fire rate does give the illusion that ammo efficiency might not be as helpful. But overall? This is a very solid upgrade, and the extra dash polarity helps to ensure no forma is needed for a quick and strong build. I hope this helps you in Warframe, Tenno!
Update: 5/15/2026
The above build has now been updated to include the new augment mod from the current Nightwave, Cascadia Flare for fire damage synergy, and “Magnetic Might” from Warframe: 1999. Making it a better build overall if it is used with Protea Prime specifically.
