Lords of Gaming and the Iron Lords Podcast are exploring the cultured world of New York Comic Con! One of the many exciting reveals at the multi-media celebration is that Insomniac Game’s Spider-Man 2 will launch on PC in January 2025.

Spider-Man 2 Launching on PC in January 2025
Announced at the Marvel Stage present at NYCC 24, it was revealed that 2023’s exciting Spider-Man adventure will be released on PC platforms on January 30th, 2025. Sony have stated the following in regards to this PC release via a PlayStation Blog post;
“Bringing Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales to a new audience on PC together with Insomniac and Marvel Games has been a great experience for us at Nixxes,” says Julian Huijbregts, Community Manager at Nixxes. “We are excited to continue this collaboration and bring Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to PC with a suite of enhanced features, including enhanced ray-tracing options, to take full advantage of a variety of setups and configurations. Stay tuned for more details on features and recommended specs closer to launch.”
Developer Information & More
Like the PC releases of Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Nixxes is making the port. So one should expect a similar level of performance and vast quality of options present in those releases.
Some comments about these features were listed on the PlayStation Blog, stating the following;
“Our amazing partners at Nixxes have once again done an incredible job bringing the world of Marvel’s Spider-Man to PC players,” says Mike Fitzgerald, Core Technology Director at Insomniac. “Our team put a lot of love into this game, and we’re excited that it will soon be enjoyed by a whole new audience with keyboard and mouse controls, ultra widescreen support, and numerous graphical options that make it feel at home on their platform.”
In addition, all the prior console updates and free costumes will be released day one on PC.
Future of Spider-Man 2
Despite the release of a PC version implying otherwise, Spider-Man 2 will not be getting any additional DLC following this upcoming release.
It is surprising to hear, considering how the original Spider-Man received major DLC alongside its free costume updates throughout it’s run on PS4. So one must ask why Insomniac isn’t interested in DLC expansions.
Considering the massive leak that hit the studio, revealing a lot of unannounced projects (including a Spider-Man multiplayer game), that likely changed the development roadmap for Spider-Man 2. Considering we know a Venom game is on the way, it’s likely that will continue whatever original DLC plans Spider-Man 2 would’ve explored.
Closing Thoughts
I loved Spider-Man 2 despite minor issues with story pacing, so I can’t wait to see the PC community web swing across New York next year. And it’s interesting to see the timetable for PlayStation PC ports lessen over the course of this generation.
What originally took multiple years, now only takes a year or so, for Sony to greenlight a PC release. The more places people can play games, the better I say.
Are you all going to swing across NY with Peter’s Black Suit on PC next year? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more NYCC 24 coverage from Lords of Gaming!
