BlizzCon 2026 is underway, and Blizzard Entertainment has revealed several major announcements for the future of Warcraft. Leading the reveals is World of Warcraft: Forever, a new experience that will take players back to a reimagined version of the original Azeroth when it launches later this year.
That was far from the only Warcraft news coming out of the event. Blizzard also revealed World of Warcraft Midnight: Eclipse, teased the beginning of the final chapter of the Worldsoul Saga with The Last Titan, and launched an entirely new campaign for Warcraft III: Reforged.
World of Warcraft: Forever Launches This November
World of Warcraft: Forever will officially launch on November 4, 2026, with a beta beginning on September 17.
Rather than replacing the existing versions of World of Warcraft, Forever is being positioned as another permanent home alongside modern and Classic WoW. Blizzard describes it as an experience designed for returning, current, and completely new players, with a greater emphasis on Azeroth itself, its communities, and the journey players take through the world.
The experience takes place after the events of Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom but before Molten Core. Players will return to the game’s original continents and progress to level 60 while experiencing new stories and content. Blizzard also plans to continue expanding the experience through future updates, creating what appears to be a new evolving interpretation of the original World of Warcraft.
World of Warcraft: Forever Introduces the Skyborne
The announcement also revealed a new playable race known as the Skyborne.
Players purchasing the optional Skyborne Heroic Pack will receive access to the race alongside the Zephras Isle starting experience. The pack also includes Early Name Reservation, the Cerulean Prideclaw ground mount, cosmetics, housing decor, and an Invite-A-Friend Launch Code.
The Skyborne Epic Pack includes the Heroic Pack content alongside access to the September 17 beta, 30 days of World of Warcraft Game Time beginning November 4, additional cosmetics, pets, tabards, and three Invite-A-Friend Launch Codes.
A limited-time Warcraft Forever Collection will also be available. It includes the Epic Pack content along with Warcraft III: Reforged, the new Forsaken Kingdom campaign, and additional housing decorations. Access to World of Warcraft: Forever itself will be included with an active World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time when the experience launches globally on November 4.
World of Warcraft Midnight: Eclipse Revealed
Blizzard also provided the first details on the next major content update for World of Warcraft: Midnight, titled Eclipse. The update will bring players face-to-face with Xal’atath as she moves closer to achieving her ultimate goal of reaching the Worldsoul. Players will have to confront her directly as the fate of Azeroth hangs in the balance. The events of Eclipse will unfold in the worldcore and help set the stage for the conclusion of the Worldsoul Saga.
The Last Titan Will Begin the Saga’s Final Chapter
Following the events of Midnight: Eclipse, Blizzard will turn its attention toward The Last Titan. The upcoming chapter will return players to Northrend while reflecting on the long history of Azeroth and the conflicts players have experienced throughout World of Warcraft.
Blizzard highlighted everything from Ahn’Qiraj and the Frozen Throne to Deathwing, the Burning Legion, and adventures beyond life and death as part of the history leading into this final chapter. More information about The Last Titan is expected to be revealed in early 2027 following the events of Midnight: Eclipse.
Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom Is Available Now
Blizzard had another surprise for longtime Warcraft fans with the release of Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom. The new campaign marks the first new Warcraft III campaign in more than two decades. It explores the fall of Lordaeron and its eventual transformation into the Undercity while telling the story of the newly risen Forsaken.
Sylvanas Windrunner returns as one of the major characters as the Forsaken break free from the Scourge and attempt to establish a future beneath the ruins of their former kingdom.
Forsaken Kingdom includes a prologue and three story chapters alongside a neutral Forsaken Paladin hero unit. Its story is also particularly important to Blizzard’s newly announced plans, as it helps bridge the gap between the fall of Lordaeron and the events leading into World of Warcraft: Forever.
The campaign is available now for Warcraft III: Reforged.
A Big BlizzCon for Warcraft
BlizzCon 2026 has already provided Warcraft fans with a clearer picture of where the franchise is heading. Midnight: Eclipse and The Last Titan continue the ongoing story of modern World of Warcraft, while Forsaken Kingdom returns to an important period in Azeroth’s history.
However, World of Warcraft: Forever may be the most intriguing announcement of the group. Instead of simply recreating the original game again, Blizzard appears ready to use classic Azeroth as the foundation for something that can continue growing with new stories, regions, dungeons, raids, and other content for years to come.
Players will get their first opportunity to experience that vision when the World of Warcraft: Forever beta begins September 17, followed by its full launch on November 4.
