Here’s A List of Audio Formats Supported on PS5
One of the most pressing questions for the PS5 was which audio formats would the system support. Will your current setup at homework with Sony’s next-gen console? For example, will Dolby Atmos take advantage of the PS5 or will I need to make a change? Worry not! Now, as the console has finally reached the homes of gamers, we have an answer.
Discovered in PlayStation’s recent FAQ, the blog post, provides a list of supported formats.
PS5 will support the following audio formats:

PS5 has you covered with a number of compatible audio formats that will work alongside your new system. Even high-end speakers will take advantage of the system. Earlier, this was still an unknown. Nonetheless, seeing a full detailed list of formats supported, is exactly what we needed.
The PlayStation 5 has finally released in the U.S, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea. The rest of the world will receive their systems on November 19th. Alongside the console’s release, a bevy of marquee titles will launch alongside it. For example, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Demon’s Souls, and The Pathless.
