Loki, the summer streaming series from Marvel just released a brand new trailer. Marvel Studios have been on fire this year with new releases. First came the surprise hit WandaVision which was followed up just a couple short weeks after by Falcon and the Winter Soldier. That series will run for six total episodes, three of which are already out. Starting June 11, 2021, the next part of Marvel’s streaming plans debuts in the form of Loki.
The trailer showcases a little bit more of a coherent plot that we have seen before. The Time Variance Authority is after Loki for escaping into the time stream after the events of Avengers: Endgame. However, simple imprisonment is not what they have in mind. Owen Wilson is playing Mobius, a Fantastic Four character from the early 1990’s. He recruits Loki for an unknown mission that will see him jumping through the multiverse.
There are hints that other versions of Loki may be making appearances as the Loki from the prime Marvel Universe is referred to as a ‘variant’. Loki definitely is not a willing participant in the schemes of the Time Variance Authority. Also, there is a real frenemies vibe to the interactions between Mobius and Loki. This show promises to be quite the departure from the grounded action espionage of Falcon and Winter Soldier. Be sure to keep it locked while we discuss all the news surrounding Marvel’s big series and movies on Disney Plus.
