Starting today, players will be able to play the original Quake on their Xbox console. The original game is now a part of the Game Pass subscription service. If you own a PC you’re in for a treat. This is all because of the wonderful event that is going on this weekend, Quakecon 2021.

Quake Now Available on Xbox Game Pass

Quake is now playable for players who have the Xbox Game Pass or Ulitmate Game Pass service. In fact, players will be able to enjoy some cross-play with the title. Xbox Wire was kind enough to give us a better look at some of the game’s features. Take a look:

Quake returns today with an enhanced re-release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (via backward compatibility), PC, and with Xbox Game Pass.

The re-release supports local or online co-op for up to four players across its campaign, original expansions, and two campaign add-ons created by the award-winning team at MachineGames.

Players will also get all the expansions that were released with the game. Including a new expansion called Dimension of the Machine. In addition, look out for free mods and other downloadable content. This is huge for fans of the FPS genre and have never gone through and suffered playing this game.

The original Quake isn’t the only title releasing on Xbox Game Pass today. Additionally, PC players will get to enjoy Quake II and Quake III: Arena on Xbox Game Pass PC. If you aren’t currently subscribed to Xbox Game Pass the subscription costs only $9.99 per month. That gives all FPS fans a reason to jump back into this classic franchise.

Expect some more surprises throughout the weekend as Quakecon 2021 continues. Some of the other games that will be talked about this weekend include Elder Scrolls Online, Fallout 76, and DOOM Eternal.
