Thanks to the Resolution Games Showcase today we had multiple projects announced. Resolution Games is the leading VR and AR studio behind Demeo, Blaston, and other award-winning titles. We got lots of gaming news here, but let’s focus on Demeo.
Tommy Palm, CEO, and founder of Resolution Games had this to say:
Today’s a big day for VR and AR gaming. The fact that today our studio was able to share so much news in a single day, a fraction of what we are actually working on. That it required a showcase event is very exciting and says a great deal about the positive direction and strength of the industry overall. It’s been such an exciting journey from where we started to now, where we have nearly 200 employees and a large roster of games on the horizon.
What’s projected for 2023 and beyond in the XR industry has us incredibly excited for what’s next — and when ‘what’s next comes, we’ll be ready and waiting,” said Paul Brady, President, and co-founder of Resolution Games. “This year, Resolution Games has experienced an incredible deal of growth, opened a US headquarters in Austin, Texas, and acquired Zenz VR and their incredible team — all while continuing to innovate new ways to play with the latest XR technologies. And the fun’s just getting started!
Demeo Battles
With the Resolution Games showcase today we got more details on the highly anticipated PVP version of Demeo. Not only that we got some never-before-seen gameplay footage! It’s described like this, “The darkness of Demeo’s dungeons has always felt more bearable with the light of friends. But what happens when friends become enemies?” Demeo Battles are going to flip the script of everyone’s favorite digital tabletop strategy game upside down when friends can become enemies. These PVP battles will allow players to team up with each other as they hunt down other players in turn-based tactical combat. Your former allies now turned into enemies as you go head-to-head in PVP in 2023.
Demeo: Reign of Madness
Revealed today during the Resolution Games Showcase was the final chapter in the Mad Elven King Saga known as the Reign of Madness. In this adventure, players arrive in the Town of Ends where the goal ends up being to close the Rift Bridge and stop the evil Rackarn once and for all. This free update is available to everyone who owns Demeo and can be obtained on the Quest Store and Steam. You will also be able to obtain it via Pico in the near future as well. You will get to experience Uhrak the Barbarian who is very proficient with his trusty Hook of Varga. With his trusty hook, handy Uhrak is able to keep his friends close and his enemies closer as they say.
Like all the other Demeo adventures Reign of Madness will introduce new enemies, new levels, and many people’s favorite NEW CARDS! With this adventure, you also get to experience a new orchestral arrangement of the Demeo title score. Also, all-new music for the Reign of Madness adventure was performed by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. Reign of Madness will bring a close to this amazing saga’s final chapter. The last piece of information provided is Demeo’s price will be increasing to $39.99 USD for all platforms starting on January 12th. They said the price increase is to better reflect the breadth of the game. Which includes the addition of four complete adventures, and three new playable characters. As well as numerous other enhancements since the game’s early 2021 launch.
Demeo: PC Edition Leaves Early Access, Coming to Steam Deck and Epic Games Store
Finally, fans of playing Demeo on the desktop will be pleased to know their experiences will soon be enhanced. Today Demeo for the PC comes out of Early Access on Steam and also debuts on the Epic Games Store. So we will get to experience several player-requested additions today! A big thing for desktop Demeo players can now take advantage of controller support and full Steam Deck optimization. This will allow many people to enjoy Demeo in more ways than ever thought of before. This should allow some of the difficulties of playing with the mouse and keyboard to be alleviated.
These were not the only announcements they had at the Resolution Games Showcase. They had a ton of other news regarding other projects as well. So stay tuned for more information regarding Resolution Games Showcase and other announcements.
