Devstream 172 wrapped on all official channels for Warframe yesterday. This Devstream is the last one before Tennocon 2023 on August 26th. This means that any and all news on the game will be slow until the big blowout on that day. But Digital Extremes delivered on upcoming content to look forward to. Such as the Echoes of Duviri update, Wisp Prime, and when she arrives. As well as upcoming events to pad out the time until Tennocon 2023. Here is everything from Devstream 172.
Everything from Warframe Devstream 172
For starters, they went over that the Pride month celebrations will be ending today, but there will be a code that players can redeem to still acquire the celebratory items throughout the rest of the year. The code for the Pride celebratory content is: Pride2023. To redeem this code, either go here or use the in-game market to redeem the code.
They also went over some explanations for stuff in The Seven Crimes of Kullervo, the latest content update for Warframe. Namely why they made the decision to only have Kullervo’s Hold appear during three spirals for thematic and narrative reasons. The two-week event was exclusively made so people could grind out Kullervo without the frustration of the spiral schedule.
For players who are using Kullervo like I am, they are going to add a small but important feature. Shield gating for Overguard, which Kullervo relies on survivability. In addition to this, they are looking into allowing power strength to raise the Overguard cap. These improvements will be added in the Echoes of Duviri. The next content update for Warframe.
Echoes of Duviri Announced
The Echoes of Duviri is a quality-of-life style update for The Duviri Paradox. However, unlike The Seven Crimes of Kullervo, there will not be too much new content added. The first thing that was shown was the addition of Assassination in the Undercroft/Circuit rotation. In the assassination mission, you will have to take down The Jackal, the boss of Venus in the Origin System. This will spice up runs with a much-needed boss fight that is beginner friendly.
They also showcased a whole slew of new Incarnon adapters coming into the game. This new rotation will include adapters for:
- Boar.
- Gorgon.
- Anku.
- Angstum.
- Gammacor.
These adapters will work for their alternative versions, like the Prisma, wraith, or synoid variants.
They also mentioned that these adapters specifically can be bought for those who do not wish to wait for the rotation to occur. You will also be given the resources to install them right away. This is questionable, but how this idea plays out will depend on how the community reacts.
The 6th Drifter melee weapon is coming in this update as well. The Argo & Vel are a shield and mace combo that will feature the ability to stun and bleed enemies with the power strike. As well as allowing perfect parrying to recharge the power strike. This weapon can be used outside of Duviri, but no details on its special function.
Finally, Duviri-based dojo rooms are coming in this update. They will feature portals and you can customize them to use any of the five Duviri spirals sky box. Echoes of Duviri will be the last Duviri-focused update for a while as they sift focus onto new content.
Wisp Prime Arrives in Warframe on July 27th
Wisp Prime is coming to Warframe on July 27th. She will arrive with the Fulmin and Gunsen Prime variants. Her prime accessories will feature a cool-looking Drifter/Operator suit and a syandana.
They also mentioned that the ability to buy more loadout slots for the Drifter and Operator will potentially be coming with Echoes of Duviri but did not confirm it will. Additionally, the next Prime Resurgence will feature Banshee and Mirage Prime alongside their weapons and special cosmetics.
Finally, Dog Days will be returning soon. New floofs, a new syandana, and a new domestik drone can be earned in the event this year. No details on when Dog Days is returning, but stay tuned! To close out the show, they went over crucial details for Tennocon 2023.
Tennocon 2023 Schedule
Tennocon 2023 will showcase all new content for Warframe primarily. But has been all digital for the past few years, this year will be an in-person event and sold out on tickets for attendees very quickly. Below are the timetables for Tennocon 2023’s many panels:
Tennolive 2023 has been confirmed to be about 90 minutes long. They have confirmed they are being very secretive about what they will talk about leading up to the showcase. For Tenno who cosplay, the cosplay contest is returning, with a special competitive contest. The Tenno who wins the competitive test will be rewarded $10,000. With runner ups being given cash prizes as well.
They also mentioned that there will be new 10-year anniversary alerts leading up to Tennocon called Recall: Ten-Zero that starts on July 19th. The weekly rewards will feature noggles, a new cool-looking gunblade skin. As well as special encounters from unique events in the past. At one point during the lead-up to Tennocon 2023, you will be given an amazing-looking Drifter/Operator suit to celebrate the 10 years of Warframe in style.
The rest of the minute details of Devstream 172 are as follows:
- The Warframe concept art book is now fully drafted. Will feature 12×17 inch pages and will be “massive”.
- The second part of the soundtrack for Warframe is being released soon. Will be on multiple records, featuring music from The Sacrifice and onward.
- No Inaros Rework is in the works. But the Companion Rework is in the works for sometime this year.
- New warframes will be revealed during Tennocon 2023. They will feature names completing the alphabet, they will either start with the letter D or Q.
Finally, Cross-Save is being tested but they did mention that they have to get the launch right considering players’ accounts are on the line. More news will be shared at Tennocon 2023, potentially during Tennolive.
But this is all for Devstream 172 for Warframe. If you would like to catch the full Devstream, you can do so here.
