Wayfinder Early Access Release Date and Founders Pack Details

In a recent Twitch stream from the official Wayfinder Twitch channel. The long-awaited release date for the early access of the game is finally here. As well as some long-awaited details regarding the game’s founders pack. From details on the new Wayfinder coming in early access, Venomess, to the game’s content roadmap. Here is everything from their recent stream on Twitch.

All Early Access Details for Wayfinder

For starters, the release date for the game’s early access is August 15th. This launch will feature cross-save and crossplay between PC and PlayStation platforms. While the game itself will be free to play, you will need to purchase any of the four upcoming Founders Packs to gain early access. The developers have clarified that there will be no loot boxes or gacha mechanics in either version of Wayfinder. 

There will be four variants of the games founders pack during early access:

• Base, which gives you the first season Reward Tower. 500 Runesilver, Founders Flag Profile Background, Founder’s Glyph pack, and “Wayfounder” Title and profile glyph. This is $19.99 USD.
• Initiate, which gives you 1,000 Runesilver, 1 free Wayfinder Token, a Sword and Shield, a Dual dagger, and Rifle skin. As well as a Founder’s dye Set with an “Original” title and profile glyph. This is $49.99 USD.
• Awakened, which gives you 2,250 Runesilver, a Highlands Strider mount and saddle pack. As well as a cub pet, housing decorations, and “Crewmember” title and glyph set. This is $89.99 USD.
• Exalted, which gives you 4,200 Runesilver, Heroic Kyros with Ascendant Style set and exalted dye pack. Enchanted Tower Compass, Wingrave Knight of the Throne skin, Niss shadow nation skin, and Silo Firestarter Style set. As well as “Precursor” title and profile glyph. This is $149.99 USD.

Runesilver will most likely be the game’s premium currency, like Platinum in Warframe. Each upgraded tier of the founder’s pack will include previous founders’ pack rewards. You will be able to upgrade your version of the founder’s pack at any time before early access concludes. You will just have to pay the price difference. The special items of a founder’s pack, ranging from pets, mounts, cosmetics, and Elite Wayfinders will only be available in the founder’s packs. Once the early access period concludes, these items will no longer be obtainable.

Alongside the unique items to the founder’s packs, you will also be awarded both Reward Towers for the entire early access run. The Exalted Packs “Enchanter Tower Compass” will increase the Reward Tower progress rate boost for your account. Reward Towers will be the games take on the Battle Pass system, and any paid version of the Reward Towers will remain on your account. This will allow players to take the time they need to finish them, instead of rushing and burning themselves out.

Details on Venomess

In the stream, they went over how the next Wayfinder, Venomess, will play. She will have a long-range burst fire rifle and use poison to her advantage. Anytime she damages enemies, she will be spreading poison and have certain abilities centered around poison. She will also feature support abilities. This means she can heal players and will be a boon in a lot of activities in the game. Venomess will be available at the start of the early access period.

Finally, they went over the content roadmap plans for Wayfinder. They mentioned they will be adding over time more of the following:

• New Boss Hunts.
• Expeditions, which are long-form randomly generated activities similar to Strikes in Destiny 2. But due to the randomly generated nature, you will have different activities to do in each run of certain activities instead of one static run.
• Player housing will be coming. They showed off a spacious room with a place for a pet to perch.
• There will be improved movement mechanics coming to the game for use in Expeditions. Such as a grappling hook!

The early access period for Wayfinder will be exclusive to PC through Steam and PlayStation 4|5. Wayfinder will come to the Xbox platform after the early access period is done. Whether or not the Xbox platform will be able to buy founder’s packs is unknown at this time.
