Rock Show Going Mobile – Hi-Fi Rush Rated for Nintendo Switch (Rumor)
Releasing in 2023 as one of the best games of that year, Hi-Fi Rush continues it’s rock show. Originally releasing on Xbox Series consoles and PC in 2023, the title went on tour alongside other Xbox exclusives.
Hi-Fi Rush released on PlayStation 5 in March 2024, making great use of the console’s strengths. But a Switch version was nowhere in sight despite earlier rumors this year. The game would be very much at home alongside Mario and friends with it’s colorful art style.
It seems that the game will be coming to Switch after all.

Discovered Genki and Gematsu, Hi-Fi Rush recently got a rating for the Nintendo Switch platform. This follows the game’s PlayStation 5 release. With the Xbox Games Showcase happening in June 2024, it’s likely we will get a Switch release date around that time period.
Overall Thoughts
This game is one of my favorites from 2023 and it’s genuinely one of the best games Microsoft has published in many years. Being a beloved game in the community and the PlayStation version only enhancing that experience, I wonder what Switch could bring to the table.
The console struggles greatly running higher-end games, with even Nintendo’s own new releases unable to hit a stable 30FPS and remakes of older generation games unable to hit their original target frame rate. Hi-Fi Rush requires a stable 60FPS for not only combat but also for the highly animated world. Capping that to 30FPS will change how the game plays.
But with a common trade-off for games releasing on Switch being their portable nature, maybe that’s a trade-off Switch owners would be able to deal with? Or maybe Microsoft is timing the Switch release alongside a Switch 2 announcement? We shall see in the coming months.
This potential move would also feed into the idea of Microsoft releasing another ‘wave’ of games across PlayStation and Switch in the latter half of 2024. With the company celebrating success in this ‘experiment’, more clearly will follow.
