Devstream 185 showcased the Encore of a Lifetime for Warframe: 1999. This massive new update will bring with not only the 60th warframe, Temple. But it will also bring with it nearly 20 new weapons, 2 new game modes, four new protoframes and the long-awaited Ollie’s Crash Course. While this update has been teased for months across both Devstream 184, and 185 as well as many Devshorts episodes. The community will only have to wait a little under three weeks longer for Techrot Encore, as it is set to launch on March 19th. Here is everything you can expect from it!
A New Warframe, and a Slew of New Weaponry in Techrot Encore
Techrot Encore is going to bring with it 13 Technocyte Coda weapons. 10 of which will be enhanced versions of the following:
- Hema
- Sporothrix
- Synapse
- Catabolyst
- Pox
- Tysis
- Caustacyst
- Hirudo
- Mire
- Pathocyst
There will be three unique weapons coming with that batch, including a new shotgun, a pair of dual pistols, and a hammer. These will be earned from the Technocyte Coda, the Infested On-lyne Band Members that will be the third faction of the Lich system, which is inspired by the Shadow of War Nemesis system. When you trigger a Technocyte Coda, you will not be locked into a random weapon with a random damage stat boost – Instead you will earn currency to buy your desired weapon and a random guaranteed cosmetic item. These items can either be floofs, ephemeras or in-game posters.

Also worth noting is that the Technocyte Coda will have random color loadouts and a unique menu on the 1999 computer, and the Coda will not rob you of money or resources. Going alongside the new Technocyte Coda weapons will also be 4 new Scaldra weapons. There will be an auto rifle, pistol, dual blades, and a grenade launcher. But there will be a new and unique side arm to accompany the 60th warframe, Temple. Their signature pistol, Riot-848, will fit the theme for Temple’s abilities.
Temple’s Abilities
Temple will be a music-based warframe, similar to Octavia, but with an Exalted weapon twist and unique passive. Their passive is a metronome that, like a rhythm game similar to Hi-Fi Rush, will boost Temple’s abilities when used with perfect timing. Their abilities are as follows:
- Pyrotechnics – Will summon forth a wave of fiery pillars to light enemies ablaze. This will be the Helminth subsume ability.
- Overdrive – Will debuff enemies, allowing you to deal more critical damage to them.
- Rippers Wail – Will add fire damage to you and your teammates’ weapons. Hitting on time with the metronome will offer a free revive and passive heal to Temple.
- Finally, Temple’s fourth ability will summon Lizzie, their Exalted Guitar. It will have radiation damage, and high critical based stats. You can either spray and pray or go for short, controlled bursts with customizable damage options similar to Lavos.

Temple will also have their own unique Signa you can buy in the market. Both Temple, and Riot-848 will be earnable from the new Defense mission coming in Warframe: 1999.
A Concert of Defense and Reprised Archimedea
There will be a new traditional endless Defense mission coming Techrot Encore. With the quality-of-life improvements in this update, this Defense mission, like all others, will now be 3 waves and not 5. In this defense mission, you will be protecting Temple as they rock out in defiance against the Scaldra. This version will have a few twists added to it:
- For starters, there will be speakers you can power up to deal damage to foes around you.
- A mini boss will be summoned at the end of each third wave, killing it will progress to the next three.
- After the third wave, the stage will collapse, revealing an underground section to defend. Think, Lua’s defense mission as a point of reference.

Every 3 waves, you will earn a random reward which could be Temple’s blueprints or Riot-808’s. You will also earn a currency that you can spend to buy the missing parts you need to finish the grind.
There will also be a revised version of the endgame game mode, Deep Archimedea, you can take on every week. This will behave similar to the one in the Entrati Labs, and also share the research pulses, so you will have to pick and choose if you want to do 3 Netracells, and an Elite Archimedea in the Entrati Labs, or two Elite Archimedeas and one Netracell run. This version of Deep Archimedea, called Temporal Archimedea, will also have a small twist to it as well. The vendor that runs the game mode will have stickers that you can use to offer unique boosts to any missions in your run if you have the stickers to use.
Ollie’s Crash Course is Arriving in Techrot Encore
During the TennoCon 2024, the gameplay demo for Warframe: 1999 had a brief moment of teasing an arcade game called Ollie’s Crash Course. What made this moment in the demo so special is the story behind the arcade game. James Conlin, who will be the voice actor for Ollie was given the honor of the role through the Make-a-Wish foundation. The story behind how this came to be is heartwarming, and during TennoCon last year we were able to get the full story thanks to an interview with Kevin Lim (the voice actor of Bombastine from The Duviri Paradox), which can be found here.

As for the game mode, it will be more intricate compared to Caliber Chicks 2. It will be a racing mini game with power ups, checkpoints you have to hit, and environmental hazards. As well as taunts from Ollie himself. The mini game will be accessible through one of the motorcycle arcade machines in the Hollvania mall, which will also have four new visitors in a new area in Techrot Encore.
Four New Protoframes
The Hollvanian Mall will have a new section opened up in Techrot Encore. There will be a new bar that will include four new protoframes. Outside, the vendor for Temporal Archimedea will be stationed, her name is Kaya and will be the Nova protoframe. Inside the bar will have the Frost protoframe, Velimir II, and the Saryn protoframe named Minerva. Minerva and Velimir are the adoptive parents of Rasulka from the story in Warframe: 1999. Velimir will sell 1999 themed furniture, and Minerva will sell the new Scaldra weapons.

Also, inside this new section of the mall will be Flare, the Temple protoframe. They will be who you can take the special currency from the defense mission to buy what you are not able to get. As with all protoframes, there will be a Gemini skin and emote you can buy from the market. You can also talk with them after hitting rank 5 through the KIM messaging system, but you will unfortunately not be able to romance either new protoframe.
Finally, in Techrot Encore, you can expect to finally be able to replay The Hex quest. But these are all the highlights you need to know about the upcoming update to Warframe. It will launch as a free update on March 19th, and it is looking to be quite the meaty update. If you would like to catch the full Devstream for any more minute details, you can find that stream on the official Warframe YouTube channel here.
