On January 31st, Digital Extremes announced during their 184th Devstream the follow-up update for Warframe: 1999, called Techrot Encore. In this particular update, not only is there a wealth of new content being added for players of Warframe to enjoy. There is also the addition of four new Protoframes. Including Kaya (Nova), Minerva (Saryn), Velimir (Frost), Flare (Temple). Protoframes are human/warframe hybrids that played a huge role in the story of Warframe: 1999.

But going beyond the story, players were able to engage in a uniquely presented conversation system with each Protoframe. This system not only offered more background lore for both the players main character in Warframe: 1999, the Drifter, but also each Protoframe. The Protoframes were also made romanceable (for players who went the extra mile to win their hearts), with the relationship allowing for a special new year’s kiss. With the new Protoframes being added in Techrot Encore, they will not be romanceable, however. Instead, they will offer unique stories that will no doubt captivate players.
To talk more in depth about these four new Protoframes before their arrival on March 19th, and their backstories, we at Lords of Gaming were given the privilege to talk with Kat Kingsley, the Principal Writer for the conversation system and the Protoframes. In our video interview we got to learn more about her role, and how she took players feedback to heart for Techrot Encore. Below will be our lengthy, yet brief interview with Kat!
Our Exclusive Video Interview with Kat Kingsley for Techrot Encore’s new Protoframes in Techrot Encore
The interview runs for about 26 minutes, and Kat Kingsley was able to detail a lot of background inner workings regarding her work:
We at Lords of Gaming would like to, once again, thank Digital Extremes for allowing us to speak with Kat. If you enjoyed the interview, please consider leaving a comment in the comments section with any feedback you have. Thank you so much for giving us your time.
