Warframe: Highlights from YouTuber Tactical Potato’s Interview with Rebecca Ford and Megan Everett

Techrot Encore Temple Keyart

Yesterday, prominent Warframe YouTuber, Tactical Potato, who has been creating informative and high-quality content for the long running MMORPG, sat down with the Creative Director of the game, Rebecca Ford, and the Community Director of Digital Extremes, Megan Everett in a very lengthy interview you should definitely check out here. With the upcoming update, Techrot Encore, coming next week, this is also a special time for the Warframe community. As there is a 12-year anniversary celebration that makes the time for this interview all the more special.

In this interview, they went over details about stuff coming in Techrot Encore. As well as a lot of the reasoning behind certain changes coming, and even confirmation on some new warframes and reworks on the way this year. Here are all the highlights from the interview!

New Warframe’s, Behind the Scenes for Techrot Encore, and More

Starting off in this interview, Tactical Potato got confirmation of three new warframe’s coming this year after Temple, the glam rock guitar-themed warframe in Techrot Encore, with another one already planned for next year. We also learned that Flare, the Protoframe for Temple, will have a horror themed KIM messaging storyline.

Another bit of information I found very intriguing is that the Pseudo exalted weapon rework coming alongside all of the new quality-of-life changes in this same update has been planned for nearly 5 years. Both Rebecca, and Game Director, Pablo Alonzo, had talks about this change before they took their current positions in Digital Extremes.

One of the new game modes coming in Techrot Encore in Warframe, is Temporal Archimedea. This game mode will be centered around endgame players and will have some twists on the original Deep Archimedea formula. Rebecca and Megan during the interview went over some of the rewards you can earn in it. Such as the new Omni Forma, the Elemental Vice that will allow you to change the elemental boost of a Technocyte Coda weapon, and confirmation that any color of Archon Shard (both normal and Tauforged) can drop in this activity.

In this update, Ash is getting a very light rework to his kit. According to Rebecca, there will be at least two more reworks for select warframe’s this year. However, no details were given on which warframe will get the rework treatment. Finally, Tactical Potato asked about the new player experience improvements they have planned beyond Techrot Encore. Both Rebecca and Megan went over that they would like to improve the explanation for the mod system (since it is a key component of the overall customization in Warframe). From here, Tactical Potato did some rapid-fire community questions.

Highlights from the Warframe Community Questions

  • Tactical Potato brought up from a community member that they would like to see a “material wishlist” or similar tracking system. This would of course help all players plan out what they need when they are farming in-game.
  • To avoid duplicate cosmetics from the Technocyte Coda, they recommended utilizing the Lich trade system.
  • There will be no multiplayer for the upcoming Ollie’s Crash Course mini-game.
  • Finally, dedicated warframe augment slots will never be a thing for customization. As well as raids not making a return, after their removal several years ago.

But these were all of the highlights from the interview. I of course, recommend watching the full interview for all of the fun and any details I did not highlight here. It can be found below for your viewing pleasure:
