Yesterday, Digital Extremes changed the game with Soulframe, literally. In their most recent update, Preludes 15, they changed their upcoming fantasy MMORPG from a mostly crafting-centric experience to a more looter approach with Diablo-lite drop systems, a lot of quality of life improvements, and all-new content to play. Here is everything you can expect from Preludes 15!
What to Expect from Preludes 15 in Soulframe
For starters, as mentioned before, the loot system has been overhauled drastically. You can now find new weapons in massive quantities as they now drop like candy. From enemies, chests, weapon racks, and activities, you can expect to find most weapons. Some still require crafting, but many can be acquired by just playing the game. They also come with random modifiers on them and rarity tiers for extra damage. Also new to Soulframe is a rework to the Totems system to make them work in tandem with Runes, the weapon ultimate system.

There are also new activities and areas to experience. Including a brand new island, north of the map, that didn’t have anything to do on it. But it is now accessible and offers new enemies to fight. You can also experience a brand new siege called “Turret Jotar”.

Also in this update, you can now receive mail in-game and trade with players. The world map has also been improved to offer regions in more detail.

4 new weapons and a brand new enemy have also come to Soulframe. Including a brand new mace, sword, and heavy axe. The newest enemy is a flying Ode drone that you can encounter through a variety of different encounters.
All of this is free for players in the Preludes pre-alpha program. If you have not signed up, you can find a link here to sign up for a chance to play it on PC!
