Despite Narin and Nunchasa in the Iceblade of Narin being solid additions to Warframe, the newly added akimbo pistols, Aksondol, are not. In fact, I would argue they are generally underwhelming, even with their gimmick thrown in. But before discussing that, below will be our recommended build and review for them.
Recommended Build for Aksondol in Warframe
This build is going to require at most 4 forma to make them usable in normal and endgame content such as Steel Path:
Similar to the Nunchasa, the Aksondol are critical-based pistols and need to be built with that in mind. You will need the Cannonade and the Acuity mod to make sure the damage output is fine. As well as Secondary Deadhead, adding more damage on top of it. This is the only build I could make that feels enjoyable.
Aksondol Review
When I first heard of these pistols, I assumed they would be something fun to use in close quarters since their gimmick is to make a small area-of-effect ice storm around you when you reload. However, that is not the case. Instead, they are slow-firing with a small magazine, making them good for long-distance firefights, but not for close quarters, where the gimmick shines the most. If you are using these with Narin, her third ability is already better by default, so do go into using them with that in mind. Not to mention, the little bubble from the Aksondol isn’t that big anyway. While I’d recommend getting the bow, the Aksondol is not a must-have in Warframe.
