Tales of Arise Locks Down Release Date, New Trailer

Tales of Arise, the next entry in the long-standing Tales of JRPG series, has an official release date.

Revealed by Japanese gaming media site Famitsu, Tales of Arise will release on September 10, 2021. The game will be launching on PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well as PC. Console versions of the game have been confirmed to have 60 fps and 4K modes.

The game’s synopsis reads:

For 300 years, Rena has ruled over Dahna, pillaging the planet of its resources and stripping people of their dignity and freedom. Our tale begins with two people, Alphen and Shionne, born on different worlds, each looking to change their fate and create a new future. Featuring a diverse cast of characters, intuitive and rewarding combat system, and a captivating story set in a lush world worth fighting for, Tales of Arise delivers a first-class JRPG experience.

A New Tales of Arises

In standard Tales of fashion, players will venture the new fantasy world uncovering a lengthy story with a rich cast of characters. Tales of Arise will be the first game in the series to implement its “Atmospheric Shader” as well. In short, it is a new graphics shader inspired by anime and watercolor painting.

In addition to the release date announcement, gameplay was also shown off. From the video below, Tales of Arise is certainty stepping up to the plate on its offerings. There is a lot to uncover from the 7-minute gameplay. For instance, environments are highly detailed and atmospheric. Transitions into fights are sleeker. Battle animations and effects are noticeably sharp and more colorful. Combat looks a lot faster too, giving more room for dodging and combo potential.

Bandai Namco did announce various editions to preorder for eager fans. First, pre-order bonuses include exclusive cooking recipes and customizations items. A Digital Deluxe and a Digital Ultimate Edition are available to buy as well. Exclusive to the Bandai Namco store is the $189.99 Tales of Arise Collector’s Edition, packed with a steeelbook case, a 7-inch tall figure of Alphen and Shionne, a 64-page art book and a soundtrack CD.

Tales of Arise will release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC September 10, 2021 worldwide.
