Combat Basics
Combat in Chivalry 2 includes your typical slashes, thrusts, and overhead attacks. Thankfully, players can parry incoming attacks but be aware of this draining your stamina. Essentially, this ensures no player spams blocking and if you do, you will be punished.

Be Careful Where You Swing
More often than not, players will find themselves within a large clump of their allies facing an equally large clump. In these cases, you want to avoid flailing your weapons in large, sweeping swipes. Why? Because you will hit your allies as well as your enemies. Do Not Give Up When You’re Downed

If you land enough punches to fill the bar in the center of the screen, you can actually stand back up and continue fighting. Although your health will remain quite low, it’s a far better alternative than just running and praying for someone to heal you.
Make Use of Those Counters
Naturally, every move you make in Chivalry 2 will cost stamina. This ensures players cant simply flail their swords around or block to an infinite degree. However, with countering, players can actually refill their stamina bars during the heat of battle. In order to counter, players must hold the block position and match their opponent’s strikes. So, if they send an overhead strike, you must follow suit with the same attack. This will really task the player with watching their opponent’s every move but the reward speaks for itself.
Stay on the Move
Remain nimble during combat encounters by dodging towards the appropriate directions. Horizontal slashes can easily be avoided by stepping backward, then closing the gap during the opponent’s recovery phase. Players also have the ability to crouch but these are quite risky. They are not guaranteed to work 100% of the time. But, if you manage to duck underneath a horizontal slash, watching the attack whiff past you is one of the more rewarding sensations in the game.
Experiment with Weapons
Chivalry 2 has 3 different weapon types, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. These are classified as cut, chop, and blunt weapons. For instance, swords, axes, and hammers respectively. Weapons like longswords will have further ranger as well as the ability to cleave through opponents. If you see something hanging in Chivalry 2, there’s reason to believe it can be knocked down. By doing this, the object will plummet down and deal massive damage to those victims within the vicinity.
