Summer Game Fest: Death Stranding Director’s Cut
During today’s Summer Game Fest Metal Gear Solid and P.T. director, Hideo Kojima, brought the goods to PlayStation fans waiting for news this summer.
Death Stranding will be coming to PS5 this year in the form of Death Stranding Director’s Cut. The trailer teased new story content as well as PS5 enhancements. Summer Game Fest host Geoff Keighley assured fans that more news will be coming within a few weeks. Leading to speculation that maybe PlayStation will have a digital event of their own this summer.
The news comes off the heels of rumors swirling that Kojima has ended his partnership with PlayStation in favor of a new deal with Microsoft. Head of Xbox and Microsoft VP, Phil Spencer, added fuel to the fire by paying homage to Kojima Productions in a recent digital event.
New content coming to Death Stranding Director’s Cut will be key in bringing consumers back to the title on the PS5. 505 Games published a PC port that was an NVidia showcase and supported DLSS, Ultrawide, and ray tracing. It will be interesting to see how much content Kojima had left to add to Death Stranding. Of course, we will have to see where else Death Stranding Director’s Cut may appear this summer.
