16 Essential Weird West Tips
Weird West is a solid game. However, the game throws a lot at you at first. So, here are 16 essential Weird West tips that will help get you started.
Always Pick Up Meat from Animal Corpses
One of the best Weird West tips you’ll hear today is to always search animal corpses. You can pick up some meat that you can cook over a fire which will heal you and your posse members.
Weird West Tips – Drink Plenty of Water
If you see a barrel or bucket filled with water be sure to go over there and drink it dry. This will heal you and your posse members. Bonus tip – if you find a water pump you can refill barrels and buckets and continue to slurp away.
Buy a Horse
If you got the dollar coins, be sure to pick up a horse. Look for the horse show icon when hovering over town names on the world map to see if you can buy a horse there. The main hub town, Grackle, has a stable so keep that in mind. Horses give you more inventory space and will reduce travel time between locations. A worthy investment indeed.
Choose Dialogue Options Carefully
Be careful when choosing dialogue choice, especially with potentially hostile characters. If you select an aggressive choice, you could lose out on potentially beneficial dialogue choices.
Don’t Loot Corpses in Front of Civilians
Doing so will reflect badly on your reputation and reputation is everything in Weird West.
Keep an Eye Out for Side Quest Timers
Weird West tips come in all forms and sizes, but always be mindful of timers for side quests. Especially bounties which are always time-sensitive.
Weird West Tips – Perks Carry Over
Another one of the most useful Weird West tips you can take away is that perks carry over between characters. So be sure to keep that in mind.
Skin Animals for their Hides
Be sure to collect animal hides from their corpses. Hides are crafting materials needed to upgrade your vest armor.
Always Unlock Sentry Silencer First with Any Character
One of the best Weird West tips is unlocking the Sentry Silencer ability for your character. Since you take control of 5 different characters, you always start off with no abilities. So, make it a routine to pick up Sentry Silencer. The ability is cheap, costing only 1 Nimp Relic (ability upgrade point). Sentry Silencer silences your next rifle shot and increases damage output by 200% on unaware targets. Which is perfect for those who want to go in stealthily.
Always Have a Pickaxe and Shovel at the Ready
Be sure to always carry a shovel and pickaxe in your inventory. These are essential tools to shovel and mine ore veins. You never know when you’ll need it.
Unlock & Upgrade the Ambusher Perk
If you like to play stealth then you have to unlock and upgrade the Ambusher perk. It increases damage output on unaware enemies. If you couple this with the Sentry Silencer ability, you can be a stealthy force to be reckoned with.
Be Sure to Spend Golden Ace of Spades Before Completing Main Quests
Golden Ace of spades cards are the perk upgrade points. Although perks may carry over from character to character, Golden Ace of Spades do not. You’ll get a feel of when your character’s journey is about to conclude. So be sure to spend your Golden Ace of Spades cards before completing a character’s main questline.
Never Travel Alone & Upgrade Posse Leader Perk
Here are two Weird West tips in one. First, always travel in a posse. There is no point in going at it alone. Second, upgrade the Posse Leader perk, which increases your posse health and damage output. It is extremely beneficial and your posse will be dishing the hurt to enemies like it’s no one’s business.
Be Sure to Trade and Equip your Best Equipment with your Posse
Although the loot system is kind of a misfire in Weird West, always equip your posse and you with the best weapons and gear you have. Another Bonus Weird West tip, if you recruit a previous hero, you will have access to their inventory. So you can stash a high-level weapon with a character, recruit them early on in the next journey and have access to that higher-tiered weapon from the get-go.
Get the Lightning Rounds Ability for your Revolver
Revolvers are pretty awesome in Weird West. But how does a revolver that shoots lightning sound? Pretty crazy, right? In fact, if your enemy is drenched in water, lightning rounds will do additional damage to them. How about them apples?
When Searching for Quest Items, Head Over to the Document Section in the Menu
At times, Weird West will ask you to search for specific items during main questlines. If you find yourself in this situation, be sure to look for any clues from documents you may have picked up. They might help your search and find what it is you are looking for.
