Asus ROG Ally Hands-On Preview + Panel Discussion
Gaming is a fantastic hobby, that many of us wish we had more time to do. Whether it’s commuting to and from work, traveling, or just a busy schedule in general. Sometimes it’s hard to find the time to sit down and play a game. Thankfully, there has been a variety of services as well as handheld devices that have made gaming on the go much easier. From the Nintendo Switch, and Steam Deck which offer native gaming on the go, to Xbox Game Streaming and PS Now which allow you to play titles on your mobile device. It has never been easier to play games outside of your home. However, there is always room for competition and improving the quality of the experience. This is something Asus is hoping to do with the Asus ROG Ally.
A Beast On The Road
This all-new handheld will bring high-end PC performance on the go. The Asus ROG Ally will feature a full native Windows 11 experience. That’s right, it’s no shrink-down version, it is the full OS with all its feature sets.
The Asus ROG Ally will also utilize ROG’s Armoury Crate App to help streamline your library. Though all of the PC launchers are also accessible on the device including Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, and the Xbox PC app.
Additionally, players can expand storage via a micro SD slot located on top of the handheld.
The Asus ROG Ally will feature a 1080p high refresh rate HDR touch display. Further, the Asus handheld will also sport a dedicated command center button that will bring up quick access settings.
Its GPU is powered by AMD’s RDNA 3 architecture that will output some serious performance all within your hands. This also includes FSR support and players can fine-tune their experience if they want to upscale the image to achieve higher frame rates.
