Diablo IV‘s development team continues to earn praise amidst troubled waters at Blizzard. Players and critics alike praise the game. Furthermore, the marketing campaign capitalized on many factors such as live-service fatigue, celebrity ads, and even troubling smoke filling the sky. Diablo IV closed its chapter on Lilith for many players. However, the story of Sanctuary continues in the “Season of the Malignant.”

Lilith left corruption in her wake. Season one of Diablo IV centers on the spread of this malignant corruption after the events of the campaign. Subsequently, it is empowering monsters which gives way to new terrors. The seasonal questline begins with an investigation of new Malignant Monsters with the aid of Cormond.
Cormond is a priest who used to follow the Church of Light. He will guide players to harness the power that fuels these new monsters by way of Malignant Hearts. Consequently, these hearts provide great power and embolden your builds in new and creative ways. “Season of the Malignant” centers its gameplay around them and the new ways to explore your builds. These hearts can also be gathered from Malignant tunnels (new replayable dungeons).
Seasonal Characters and Rewards
Seasons work differently in Sanctuary compared to other games. Consequently, players must create a new “seasonal” character after completing the campaign to participate in season one. Previous characters cannot be carried over. On the other hand, you can bring your seasonal character to the “Eternal Realm” after completing the seasonal questline.
A unique Battle Pass also comes with the “Season of the Malignant.” The pass comes with 90 tiers in total (27 free and 63 premium tiers). Additionally, Smoldering Ashes can be collected from the free tiers to provide Season Blessings. These range from boosting experience, gold, or obols. Lastly, players gain access to the premium tiers with the purchase of the Deluxe or Ultimate edition of Diablo IV. All players can begin their enjoyment of season one on July 20.

Diablo Immortal‘s New Class
Diablo Immortal continues to provide Sanctuary on the go for mobile players. A year has passed since its debut. Its anniversary seeks to celebrate with a new class never before seen. As a result, the Blood Knight joins the ranks of Sanctuary’s defenders.
This is an all-new class for the Diablo franchise. Blood Knights bear a vampiric curse within them. Consequently, they toe the line between wielding dark power and succumbing to it. Blood Knights vanquish their foes from mid-range and have access to monstrous strength fueled by the blood of their enemies. This is the first new class introduced since 2014 (the Crusader). Players can wield this dark power on July 13 whether a veteran or new to Diablo Immortal.
Return to Hell
“Season of the Malignant” and Blood Knights are only the beginning of future content coming to the world of Diablo. The developers are riding on a lot of momentum and is well deserved. Hopefully, the bloody fun continues. You can read more details about Diablo IV‘s new season or Diablo Immortal updates through Blizzard’s official blog post. Additionally, the July Developer Update stream is available on their official Youtube channel. For all things Diablo, remember to bend the knee in the realm of Lords of Gaming.
