The Duviri Paradox came out to a mostly positive reception from the Warframe community. It was a very different content update. Bringing with it a new open world, new combat and epic fights against huge dragons. While feeling more realistic than the usual craziness the game is known for. Since its release, there have been a few more updates added to it. Ontop of the near twenty or so hotfixes was The Seven Crimes of Kullervo. This added a new optional boss fight, the latest warframe and many secrets to Duviri.
The Seven Crimes of Kullervo, however, everyone believed was the traditional “Echoes” update. But this was not the case, it was simply a very meaty update on top of the massive update that came before. However, during the last Devstream before TennoCon 2023 preparations. They announced that the Echoes of Duviri update was coming and it did. This brought with it very minute changes and additions. Here is everything you can expect from the update, if you have not checked it out already!
Small But Meaningful Changes/Additions
For starters, this new update added some stuff to the Circuit/Undercroft activity. Namely the Jackal from Venus in a new Assassination game mode, as well as a new Tileset to accommodate the fight. But like every other tileset in the Circuit/Undercroft, it accommodates every other type of game mode very well. The Jackal fight is actually pretty fun. You have to take down enemies between each phase before you can keep killing it.
There is also a new Drfiter melee weapon with the Argo & Vel. A mace and shield that functions well both in and out of Duviri. In Duviri you can stun enemies with its heavy attack, while out of Duviri, you can throw glaives with the melee attack. It seems to function more fluid than other Drifter melee weapons. While outside of Duviri it is a very strong addition to everyones arsenal.
They also added new damage numbers to Warframe that I feel pop out more as opposed to the old ones.
Ability specific damage is now a certain color and regular damage numbers pop out with more opacity adding more satisfaction to hitting enemies. Plus I noticed that when you jump off an enemy using bullet jump, you can now see the damage you deal considering those numbers linger on the screen. Steel Path rewards from Duviri are now fixed. This means you can now get some free ship decorations from completing each game mode on the Steel Path modifier.
This is all pretty cool, I just wish the last addition was a cherry on top instead of some nutmeg on a nice cup of hot coffee.
The New “Incarnon Market” in Warframe
One of the final additions in the Echoes of Duviri for Warframe is a new batch of incarnon adapters. Below are the latest additions from the view of the new “Incarnon Market”:
This is a new monetization model that I am a little confused by. The Incarnon grind from the Circuit every week is tedious, I will not say otherwise. But this new market only seems to be accommodating for the latest batch, and as of right now, has not rotated to the current batch of incarnons. I feel like if this existed to offer a skip button for people who have the platinum to spend for each week, that would be fine. But considering it only exists for this batch of incarnon adapters is strange. I understand more monetization models will always be met with negativity. I am not a fan of the price of these, and I feel it is strange if this market only exists for this batch. Considering they are not too good.
As someone who bought two and grinded two, I can say right now that this batch is very weak compared to the others. The weapons take a lot longer to charge up and the incarnon forms are pretty underwhelming. Like the gorgon for instance that fires out a grenade. This does not sound bad initially, but there is a wind up to fire the grenade, and the grenade takes a few seconds to explode. This turns a very versatile weapon into something very situational. Plus the Angstrum needs headshots to charge up and not just body shots. This makes it a chore to make use of its incarnon adapter.
I found this latest batch to be very underwhelming and the fact this batch will be the only batch in the incarnon market, is very shocking. But this is all from the Echoes of Duviri update in Warframe. I found everything except the incarnon market and these specific adapters very great. I hope that the team can go back and tune some of the new adapters to make them more viable. This is a very worthwhile update to check out, however. Considering it might be the last update Duviri receives for the foreseeable future.
