CES 2024: HP Omen Transcend Laptop Deep Dive
The Iron Lords are back on the show floor. This time, our very own Lord Cognito is covering the HP CES 2024 preview event in downtown New York. During the preview, we got a deep dive into the upcoming HP OMEN Transcend gaming laptop lineup.
HP OMEN Transcend 16 Gaming Laptop
The OMEN by HP Transcend 16-inch gaming laptop comes in white or black color options and sports some impressive specs.
Gamers will have a choice between 2 Intel CPUS:
- Intel Core i9-14900HX (up to 5.8 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, 36 MB L3 cache, 24 cores, 32 threads)
- Intel Core i7-14700HX (up to 5.5 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, 33 MB L3 cache, 20 cores, 28 threads)
When it comes to GPU, the Transcend 16 will come stocked with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4000 series:
- 4070 Laptop GPU with 8GB GDDR6 memory
- 4060 Laptop GPU with 8GB GDDR6 memory
- 4050 Laptop GPU with 6GB GDDR6 memory
When it comes to memory configuration, the Transcend 16 will offer either 16 or 32GB DDR5-5600 MHz.
While internal storage will be available between 512 GB up to 2 TB PCIe Gen4 NVME TLC M.2 SSDs.
The OMEN by HP Transcend 16 will sport a 16” OLED panel capable of up to 240 Hz with 0.2 ms response time. It will also have up to 500 nits of peak brightness.
There are also IPS panel models available as well with a 3 ms response time and between 165/240 Hz refresh rate.
Gamers can expect up to 10.5 hours of battery life via its 6-cell, 97 Wh Li-ion polymer battery.
OMEN Transcend Laptop 14
The OMEN Transcend gaming laptop is the lightest gaming laptop to feature a 14-inch OLED 120 Hz panel. The laptop weighs in at only 1.63kg (3.59 lbs).
The laptop comes with an Intel-based CPU:
- Intel Core Ultra 9 185H (up to 5.1 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, 24 MB L3 cache, 16 cores, 22 threads)
- Intel Core Ultra 7 155H (up to 4.8 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, 24 MB L3 cache, 16 cores, 22 threads)
The Transcend 14 sports a NVIDIA 4000 series GPU:
- 4070 Laptop GPU with 8GB GDDR6 memory
- 4060 Laptop GPU with 8GB GDDR6 memory
- 4050 Laptop GPU with 6GB GDDR6 memory
When it comes to RAM, the Transcend 14 comes in either a 16 GB/32 GB LPDDR5x-7467 MHz options.
The Transcend 14 internal storage will be available between 512 GB up to 2 TB PCIe Gen4 NVME TLC M.2 SSDs.
Battery life should last around 11.5 hours (according to MobileMark 25).
The Transcend 14 will also sport rear venting for optimal cooling.
No word yet on when players can expect these laptops to hit store shelves.
