It has been an open industry secret for a long time now that “Fable 4” was being worked on by Forza Horizon studio Playground Games. Other than that piece of information, we have seen nor heard anything regarding the anticipated game. Recently, a video featuring what looks like the new Fable game for Xbox made its way online ahead of E3. Adding to the legitimacy of the video is the fact that the video has been wiped away from YouTube and other media channels. Reddit user LagSwag1 managed to get the info on the “leaked” video was made unavailable.
He notes the following data was shared on the video from the Fable ‘leak’.
- First/Third Person
- In Depth character creator
- Completely Open
- No guns
- Can ignore main quest and never become a hero
- Players can build towns, ties into main quest heavily if you get the bad ending and fail
- Multiplayer
- Unreal Engine
Albion and Aurora are gone. “Lands reduced to fables.” The Spire was rebuilt and used by a mad king to wish that an asteroid would strike the planet. He also wished it would happen again in the far future. Eons later and everything is new (medieval themed, new continents) and you have to stop the destruction of the planet again. Theresa and a Heroes Guild are preserved on another planet via a demon door. Time Travel heavily involved in play. Jack of Blades returns

The original Fable game launched September 2004 on the original Xbox. However, I fell in love with its sequel Fable 2 which followed 4 years later in 2008 on the Xbox 360. As a huge Fable fan, any news of any Fable related game sounds amazing (not you Fable Legends). The specifications sound great as it points to a whole reboot of the franchise and not just a continuation.
If you are anything like me, you can’t wait to hear more about the project. Lords of Gaming and the Iron Lords of Gaming will be at E3 to report on anything and everything Xbox and Fable related.
Stay tuned.
