The latest videogame console and hardware results have arrived courtesy of NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella.
For the month of September, the Nintendo Switch was once again the best selling console for the month. While NBA 2K20 was the best selling software title of September.
Nintendo Switch was again the best-selling hardware platform of September and remains the best-selling platform of 2019.
Overall sales growth breakdown per September NPD results:
- Total: $1,278 million (Down from September 2018)
- Hardware: $240 million (Down from $307 million September 2018)
- Software: $732 million (Down from $761 million September 2018)
- Accessories and Game Cards: $306 million (Down from $328 million September 2018)
NBA 2K20 had the highest launch month sales of any sports title in history. It instantly becomes the best-selling game of 2019 year-to-date.
