Final Fantasy XVI Revealed as a PS5 Exclusive

Final Fantasy XVI is official.

Final Fantasy XVI is official. Square Enix’s long-running JRPG series confirmed its sixteenth entry at the opening of Wednesday’s PlayStation 5 Showcase. It is a PlayStation Exclusive.

The trailer featured common themes and monsters from the series’ history and centered around a boy named Joshua. These monsters included the Marlboro tentacle monster, the ice summon, Shiva, and a fire monster with the traditional Ifrit design.

Final Fantasy VII Remake launched earlier this year to high praise, including our own. Final Fantasy XVI is the first PlayStation exclusive title since 2006’s Final Fantasy XII (whose updated version, The Zodiac Age, has released on other consoles). XIII and its subsequent sequels released on Xbox consoles at launch, XIV released on Windows and PlayStation, and XV released on both PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
