E3 season is upon us and in full swing. Every year, rumors and leaks are prevalent during this hectic period in the game industry. Although this year’s E3 is all digital, it’s still no exception to this yearly tradition. It seems that Back 4 Blood is making headlines in the rumor mill department.

Back 4 Blood Heading to Xbox Game Pass?

It seems that Back 4 Blood could release day-and-date on Xbox Game Pass for console and PC. The  Turtle Rock Studios’ game is slated to appear on the Warner Bros. Interactive showcase, which is two hours after Xbox’s E3 showcase.

The image below is a video description of the live stream countdown for the Warner Bros. Interactive E3 showcase. It briefly went live on June 11 along with the description that said, “Back 4 Blood will be coming to Xbox Game Pass at launch via Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One as well as Windows 10 PC.” The video now has been made private.

Left 4 Dead Vibes

Back 4 Blood gameplay

Back 4 Blood is often described as the Left 4 Dead spiritual successor. The gameplay is reminiscent of the beloved co-op zombie shooter. The studio is even staffed by former Left 4 Dead developers.

Back 4 Blood could get a boost if it does indeed appear on day one on Xbox Game Pass. The effect will be similar to Outriders that also launched day-and-date on the game subscription service.

The disruptive game subscription service is on a roll recently. This move aligns with what Microsoft executives recently said about going all-in on Xbox and gaming in general.

However, like everything else on the internet, take the rumor with a grain of salt. It won’t be much longer to see if the rumor pans out or not.
