Epic Games Store Achievement System Begins Roll Out Next Week
The Epic Games Store has been on the market for almost 3 years now, after its initial launch back in December of 2018. While rolling out a brand new storefront has its own unique challenges, Epic has seemed to find success early on. With Steam having been a dominant force in the PC market for almost 2 decades, Epic was looking to challenge the store’s dominance. While the store has done phenomenal, there have been complaints that features have been very slow in rolling out. Many of these features players have become accustomed to and were vocal that Epic needed to address these features. Now, one of the biggest features that PC players have been asking for will be rolling out next week.
Achievements Unlocked In The Epic Games Store
Today, it was announced that achievements will be rolling out on the Epic Games Store next week officially. The long-requested feature will be gradually rolling out starting next week with major games like Rocket League, Hades, Kena: Bridge Of Spirits, and many more. Now the question remains, how will the achievement system work?
It appears to be quite simple as players will be able to earn bronze, silver, and gold trophies which all total out to a certain worth of XP. When a player earns 1000 XP from a game, they will earn a platinum trophy which will add an additional 250 XP for their profile. Players will be able to track their XP under a new achievements tab. Epic stated that there will be additional social features as well as player rewards releasing to the Epic Games Store later this year. The achievement system appears to be a blend of both the Xbox and PlayStation format for rewarding players for completing feats in their favorite games.
