Warframe Angels of the Zariman Reveal Breakdown
Coming fresh from their recent Devstream, Digital Extremes has finally revealed the upcoming expansion for The New War in Warframe. While no details for the story or any characters were shown, the reveal for “Angels of the Zariman” did give quite a few details on what to expect, as well as when to expect it. But be wary that there will be spoilers from The New War from here.
A Mix of Old and New for Warframe
So what’s new? For starters, the Zariman will become a new playable space in Warframe. However, as the most recently added playable spaces like Plains of Eidolon, Fortuna, and Heart of Deimos were all open world, the Zariman will be procedurally generated instead.
It will still have a player hub like the open-world areas, however. Alongside the “tokens for reputation” system to acquire new items. As well as the bounty system to grind out random rewards.
One of the key things that they emphasized for this area was the fact that the player hub and procedurally generated levels with enemies will be “seamless”. Potentially meaning players can go down a rabbit hole of exploring procedurally generated levels. Then make their way back to the hub area easily.
This immediately sounds great, but it is alarming that the open-world grind elements will be stapled to this zone. Potentially adding another ten to twenty resources you will have to research to learn when and where to grind them out. But on the brighter side, there was another key addition that they showed off.
Living in the Void
In Warframe you can pretty much live in your clan dojo and your ship. But now it seems that the game is ready to upgrade your accommodations. By letting you get your very own Zariman-side apartment within the big ship itself. In The New War, you got to go inside and speak to the drifter as the tenno. A room with a similar layout will be available for players as a new place to relax in. There will also be multiple rooms with plenty of space to add decorations to them if you aren’t tired of decorating already.
Overall, the expansion looks excellent, in the trailer to go alongside it, they showed what appears to be a new enemy type so there’s a lot to look forward to. This expansion will come next month, with no specific day stated just yet. As of right now, you can currently replay The New War if you want to re-experience the quest.
I am however a little sad that players had to wait for Angels of the Zariman and replay the quest separately. It feels like all of this should have been packaged together. But considering the current world situation, I can’t blame them for wanting to take their time.
