Multiple Announcements Regarding Silent Hill Coming This Week

Today the official Silent Hill Twitter account announced a digital event will be held this week. On Wednesday, October 19th, there will be a “Silent Hill Transmission” at 5:00 PM ET. Of course, this comes after years of Silent Hill rumors. As well as a slow revival of the Japanese publisher Konami.

The exact contents of the Tweet as stated, “In your restless dreams, do you see that town? The latest updates for the SILENT HILL series, will be revealed during the #SILENTHILL Transmission on Wednesday, October 19th, at 2:00 PM. PDT.” Also, we have embedded the tweet below.

Among the many Silent Hill rumors, the more prevailing one is that there are three games in production. Specifically, one studio that continues to come up is Bloober Team from Poland. They worked on Layers of Fear, The Medium, and The Blair Witch. There are also games rumored to be in production from Anapurna Interactive as well as an unknown Japanese developer.

Multiple Silent Hill remakes could be in the works. The franchise’s current publisher Konami has returned to nearly all of its classic franchises with remakes over the past two years. There is no reason to believe Konami plans to stop with Suikoden, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Castlevania remakes. We expect them to slowly bring back Metal Gear and Silent Hill as well, carefully through remakes or remasters.
