Every year it seems like it is harder and harder to find the time to play all of the games that we want to. Whether it is work obligations, family, moving, or some combination of other factors. There is always something that comes up that means we can not play nearly as many games as we would like. Our gaming time is precious and games that respect that are valuable indeed. They are the games that when we finish, we set down and feel utterly fulfilled. With that in mind, these are the games that most respected your time in 2022.

Winner: Stray

Stray

Many gamers are busy people with busy lives. Games like Stray understand that and want to give enjoyable experiences without a massive time commitment. Stray’s brevity is best exemplified by the trophy, “I am Speed.” You need to beat the game in under two hours. Despite the legitimate difficulty in that challenge, the fact that it’s even doable speaks volumes to how little time is needed to enjoy it. While there’s more than two hours’ worth of playtime in Stray, this is a minor commitment to complete. This is why Stray was an easy choice for our Golden Lance Award for Game that Most Respected Your Time.

Runner Up: Eiyuden Chronicles Rising

Eiyuden Chronicle Rising is a beautiful game with a beautiful story. You and your 2 other allies progress throughout the game while rebuilding your base town. The map isn’t open world so fetch quests don’t take super long. You can speedrun the game in less than 2 hours and 15 minutes. If you want to enjoy the game and dive into the story you can easily be prepared for the upcoming Hundred Heroes release. Then if you wanna complete everything 100 percent then it only takes around 21 hours. It does not take long at all the dive into the action and begun to enjoy this amazing game that was never supposed to be a full game! Eiyuden Chronicle Rising is well deserving of its status as Runner Up for Game that Most Respected Your Time.

Runner Up: Elden Ring

I spent a chunk of 2022 hurt and unable to work. Luckily I had something to spend my time on. Elden Ring came out at the perfect time. This mixture of Skyrim and Dark Souls sucked me into a beautiful and dangerous world. I was only able to put 75 hours into Elden Ring. Those 75 hours didn’t even get me halfway through since I felt like I had just started exploring the world. I am the kind of person that would rather spend my time playing one or two long games than twenty five short games. This game makes every hour with it worthwhile so take the plunge and lose yourself in this game. Elden Ring may not be short like the other two games on this list, but it is a game well worth being Runner Up for Game that Most Respected Your Time.
