The latest devstream from Digital Extremes has just wrapped up on all official Warframe channels. This stream was the usual hour-long devstream but the team was able to stuff so much info and gameplay into it. With the main highlight being so many different details on The Duviri Paradox. From the details on the upcoming expansion, including its release date, to the next prime. Here is everything revealed from Devstream 168.
The Duviri Paradox is launching in April
A new cinematic teaser for a full cinematic trailer coming soon was shown. Showcasing incredible opera music and capturing the tone of the upcoming expansion. After the trailer ended, the release window for The Duviri Paradox is in April. There is no specific date, but keep yourself on your toes in April. The Duviri Paradox is the first expansion to be accessed before you get to start the first quest, Vors Prize in Warframe. This choice is to ensure new players can jump in. If you are new a prompt will show up to either start The Duviri Paradox or start Vors prize.
For existing players, you can access all the expansion has to offer in the Dormizone in the Zariman or within Navigation. There is a new character called Acrithis who will talk to you from a terminal in the previously locked-off room in the Dormizone. In The Duviri Paradox there are three choices to choose from:
- The Duviri Experience. This is focused on the main story and side objectives.
- The Circuit. This is centered around standard warframe gameplay.
- Lone Story. This is focused on just exploring Duviri in the current Spiral.
There are going to be three different spirals that rotate on a bi-hourly basis:
- Joy.
- Envy.
- Anger.
During the Devstream, they only showed The Duviri Experience in the Joy spiral. Here are the takeaways from their gameplay.
Details from The Duviri Paradox Gameplay
The Joy spiral showed Duviri in its natural colorful world. As opposed to the colorless state of the world shown during Tennocon last year. When loading into Duviri, you will start in a cave and get to choose your loadout during that gameplay session. You can choose warframes, their weapons, and the melee weapon your Drifter will possess in that gameplay session. In this same cave you upgrade your Drifter intrinsic that consist of:
- Combat.
- Riding.
- Opportunity.
- Endurance.
This will be the long-form progression for this expansion. Similar to Railjack. Additionally in this cave, you can also customize your Kaithe. You can change the body, tail, and head. As well as name it and color your faithful steed to your heart’s content. The Drifter will be able to choose from an array of weapons. Such as a two-handed heavy mace, or longsword or just keep the simple dual swords. The gameplay experience will be akin to Roguelites. This means you will be acquiring random upgrades that apply to just that gameplay session.
One of the upgrades shown in the Devstream was the ability to triple the damage of status effects. As well as increasing movement speed depending on how many upgrades you have unlocked during your play session.
The open world will have random objectives like puzzles that include enemy encounters at the end. You can find random groups of Thrax knights, including a newer giant knight to take down for random upgrades and intrinsics. Additionally, in these play sessions, there is a new fishing mechanic that allows you to possess a maw from The War Within to capture fish and unlock intrinsics and random upgrades. As well as being friendly to wildlife to find treasure in Duviri.
However, there are even more details centered around the warframe gameplay side.
Enter the Undercroft
You will find the Undercroft randomly in Duviri. This will allow you to play normal-styled missions from warframe. They showcased a standard survival mission but after the first cycle in the survival mission. They explained it will change to either a defense or void flood mission on a cycle. You will fight normal enemies, as well as Thrax enemies from the Zariman in the Undercroft. These Undercroft journeys will reward you will intrinsics as well as random upgrades for the play session.
Decrees which are the random upgrades will be lost upon exiting Duviri in that play session. This is where the rogue-lite element comes into the game. Additionally, to help you traverse the many islands of Duviri you will be able to fly around on your horse at will. One final thing to note about The Duviri Paradox. Is that the new gameplay elements for the Drifter will not be making their way outside of Duviri for now with no timeframe on when players can use Drifter melee combat and other elements from Duviri in normal missions.
Incarnon Weapon Expansion
Incarnon weapons were first added in Angels of the Zariman. There was a batch of five new weapons that had the ability to evolve and have specific passives attached to them. While these weapons are fantastic, they are few in the grander scheme of weapons in Warframe. But this is about to change. Since the incarnon system is being added to thirty weapons in the game.

Example of Incarnon Weapon
You will need incarnon adapters and those adapters will only work on specific weapons. Such as the Lato, Braton, Kunai, and Skana weapons. They showcased the Lato and its evolution that makes it fire glaives that bounce between enemies. No details on the other weapons as of now. They did mention that adapters can be earned from The Circuit in The Duviri Paradox.
This all sounds absolutely spectacular to not only make old weapons viable. But allow for greater diversity in player load outs overall. Additionally, Hildryn, Larkspur, Shade, and Burst Laser prime were also announced and will be dropping on March 15th.
New Cosmetics for Warframe
No regular or major update for Warframe is complete without cosmetics. The Duviri Paradox will come with the following:
- New Drifter Clothing. Including access to Harrier and Steel Path Bishamo clothes.
- Drifter beards are finally coming. As well as new face paint.
- You can now select noble and agile stances for the Drifter. It is unclear if it will be just one or the other and not have specific stances for specific focus schools.
- Mesa and Limbo Voidshells are coming to the game.
- Two new deluxe skins are coming. Including a Baruuk and Sparring weapon skin. As well as a Wisp and Fulmin deluxe skin.
- A new batch of Tennogen items will be coming.
Finally, the 10-year anniversary event was mentioned but there are no concrete details just yet. But they did drop an announcement for a stream on March 22nd at 2 pm ET on their official Twitch channel.. TennoCon 2023 was also announced for August 26th in London Ontario Canada. This will be an in-person event.
If you would like to watch the full Devstream, you can do so here and see for yourself the opportunity for an upcoming Stalker warframe.
