New Set Mechanic: Charms

The new set mechanic for Teamfight Tactics: Magic n’ Mayhem is called Charms. Fitting with the magical theme, Charms appear like magic wands, casting spells. Charms appear every other shop, taking the last champion slot in the shop. Charms are single-use and can have a variety of effects and cost varying amounts of gold to obtain. Some Charms can boost economy, while others might temporarily improve combat power. In fact, there are more than 100 Charms for players to try. Only one Charm can be active at once. This means that once a player buys one, they cannot be offered another until the current one finishes. Additionally, Charms can only be obtained in player versus player (PVP) rounds. Charms cannot be purchased in rounds where players fight monsters, or PVE rounds. Players must decide when to buy a Charm, when to roll to try to find a specific Charm, or when to save gold instead. Certain champions, such as Xerath and Veigar, affect and are affected by Charms. Like with most set mechanics, Charms will play a massive role in Teamfight Tactics: Magic n’ Mayhem.

New Champions

Teamfight Tactics: Magic n’ Mayhem introduces three champions to Teamfight Tactics for the first time. First up is Norra, a popular character from Legends of Runeterra, a strategy card game made by Riot Games. Norra joins her friend Yuumi as a five-cost champion combo. In addition, two newer League of Legends champions make their Teamfight Tactics debut in Briar and Smolder. Like Norra and Yuumi, both Briar and Smolder are five-cost champions. Since five-cost champions are the highest tier of champions in the game, these newcomers look to have massive impact from the beginning.

Augments

Not surprisingly, Augments once again return with Teamfight Tactics: Magic n’ Mayhem. There will be roughly 140 new Augments added with the set. Many of those augments will be the usual Souls and Crowns of various traits. In addition, there will be new Hero Augments. There will also be a new type of Augment, called High-Stakes Augments. As the name implies, these Augments might be hard to pull off, but the reward could be massive. This new type of Augment might be perfect for players looking to go big or go home.
