Teamfight Tactics Patch 14.14 Final Patch of Set 11

Patch 14.14 of Teamfight Tactics shipped on July 17th, 2024. This is the last patch of set 11, Inkborn Fables, and the set championship has concluded. As a result, this patch is largely considered a for fun patch. There are not many changes to discuss. Of the changes that are present, many appear to be intentionally silly rather than serious changes.

Some of the most impactful changes are to encounters. There will be more encounters per game, some will be more impactful, and some will appear more or less frequently. On the trait side, two traits, Behemoth and Warden, now have an added 8-piece tier for players chasing verticals. These are among the biggest changes on patch 14.14 of Teamfight Tactics.

More Encounters

For the final patch of Inkborn Fables, encounter frequency increases. Instead of two to five encounters per game, players will now experience five encounters every game. Three encounters in particular, Dancing with Kobuko, Tristana, and Tahm Kench, have also been buffed. Dancing with Kobuko gives more rewards, and Tristana grants more gold. Tahm Kench requires less total fish to get the maximum reward for his encounter.

Patch 14.14 also alters the frequency of certain encounters. Twelve encounters, including the recently buffed Kobuko and Tristana encounters, will now appear more frequently. Four encounters, Ashe’s know next opponent, Lillia’s augment shift, Ornn’s artifact carousel, and Yorick’s limited time one gold rerolls, now appear less frequently. These are a lot of changes that, on the whole, should make games more chaotic and explosive. Players who like the chaos might enjoy these changes as set 11 comes to a close.

New 8-Piece Verticals

Patch 14.14 of Teamfight Tactics also adds a new 8-piece trait tier to both Behemoth and Warden. The 8 Behemoth tier gives 115 armor and magic resistance, as well as 50% increased champion size. The 8 Warden tier gives 45% damage reduction, as well as reveals upcoming opponents. As with all verticals, it will not always be easy to hit these new tiers.

Even when players succeed, it is unclear how strong the resulting compositions will be. While the highest tier of most chase traits is very strong, the strength of these tiers is less obvious. However, the last patch of a set need not be about playing only the strongest compositions. It can also be about memes and having fun. For those primarily looking to have fun, it might be worth chasing these tiers for the heck of it.
