Warframe Devstream 195 Breakdown

The news seemingly never stops with Digital Extremes. Today is a Devstream Double for them, focusing on both of their ongoing titles, Warframe and Soulframe. For Warframe, they revealed a lot about the next major update coming to the game. It is going to be a very meaty update, and it is set to launch in June, perhaps a few weeks before TennoCon. Below will be everything we learned from Devstream 195!

Everything from Devstream 195 for Warframe

Devstream 195 started off with a usual bit of “housecleaning”, or going over what’s to come in the immediate future. For starters, Operation “Belly of the Beast” is returning on May 4th. This update is centered around the content in Jade Shadows and will let players earn rewards old and new. On top of past rewards, players can now earn Archon Shards during the event. Also arriving on May 4th is the TennoCon 2026 Digital Pack. It will feature a unique emote and a themed ephemera from the Hunhullus in The Old Peace.

This pack should be similar to past TennoCon Digital Packs, $24.99, and come with additional in-game currency. The value of the pack on its own is an annual “must buy” for all Warframe players. It also includes an in-game ticket for Baro Ki’teer’s special TennoCon relay, which includes every single item he has ever sold. If you buy the pack, you should start farming relics for ducats as soon as possible!

Before moving into the news of the next major update, they showed off Mesa Heirloom in-game. They heard the community’s feedback and added an attachable poncho and cowboy hat for maximum immersion (or coverage, if that’s your thing).

From here, they went into a little bit of detail on the next major update coming to the game in June. It will be a sequel quest for one of the most surprising cinematic quests in the game, Jade Shadows.

Jade Shadows: Constellations Arrives in June

Jade Shadows: Constellations will be arriving in Warframe in June. If it is arriving before TennoCon, it should launch on June 24th, as all updates arrive on Wednesdays. This update was revealed with an incredible anime trailer crafted by The Line, whose most recent work with Digital Extremes was for Warframe: 1999. The trailer can be viewed below, including an incredible metal track by the band Erra:

This update will be a direct continuation of Jade Shadows, using the concept of Eternalism to explore the future versions of either Sirius or Orion from the quest as they search for the Stalker. Your choice in Jade Shadows will dictate whose side you are on in the quest.

This update will feature 2 new protoframes, one for Ash and one for Garuda. Ash’s protoframe will be a cybernetic samurai-themed character named Ryoku, and Garuda will be a retro robo-punk character named Vena. Both will have unique Gemini emotes, with Ryoku’s being a crazed bloody sword slash, and Vena’s being a creepy walk leading into a gory mangle (and an oddly sexual lick of her talons). Ryoku and Vena will be the mentors for Sirius and Orion in the cinematic quest. To play Constellations, you will, of course, have to play the original Jade Shadows, which I highly recommend doing regardless.

They also might have hinted that this update will include 2 warframes, and not just 1. But that will be clarified, no doubt, during the Devstream on May 29th.

New Railjack Content and Dante Deluxe Details for Warframe

This update will feature 2 new missions and a new player hub in Warframe. The post-quest content will be centered around Railjack, where you can enter 2 different ships. One will have canals of blood as the ship is controlled by Vena, and one with neon green lights as that ship is controlled by Ryoku. There will be a special railjack player hub coming in the update as well. Both Vena and Ryoku can be contracted to be part of your railjack crew as well.

Dante’s Deluxe skin, Tytonis, was also shown off during the Devstream. They also revealed it is coming with a deluxe Grimoire and Warfan skin. All of this is included in Jade Shadows: Constellations in June. After all of this, they also went over details on some other tweaks and changes coming in the update.

New Quality-of-Life Changes and a Nidus “Retouch”

There will be a whole slew of honestly impressive quality-of-life improvements coming in Jade Shadows: Constellations. They will include:

  • Corpus Ship Lighting Changes, presumably like the Grineer asteroid tileset.
  • Camera offset options to let you enjoy your fashion frame without being blind (because minimalism is out).
  • Being knocked down is much cooler, and recovery time is quicker.
  • You can now see how much damage-over-time effects do on health bars, so you can mentally calculate and move on to other enemies.
  • Junction bosses are being touched up again.
  • Companions will no longer steal XP from kills.
  • 4 new arcanes are coming, no details on them just yet.

Pablo also went over a Nidus “Retouch” that sounds like the kind of love he deserves at this point in the game.

Near the end of the Devstream, they did mention that Ash’s fourth ability might get touched up in preparation for Ryoku, but that is still up in the air. I personally think Ash still needs a lot of love at this point in the game’s meta. The above quality-of-life improvements, Nidus’ Retouch, and 5 new incarnons, including:

  • Vectis.
  • Obex.
  • Destreza.
  • Ballistica.
  • And the Stug (because memes can be dreams).

Closing Remarks on Devstream 195 for Warframe

Devstream 195 was a very impressive Devstream. It featured so much to look forward to in Warframe. The newest update is already sounding like one of the biggest updates before TennoCon, and I am personally very excited for it in June. If you would like to watch the full Devstream for any minute details or shenanigans, you can find it down below!
