Soulframe Preludes 16 is Now Available

Following their most recent Devstream yesterday, Digital Extremes released the latest update for Soulframe on PC. Preludes 16 adds a few new features, some gameplay changes, and some new loot to boot. Below is everything you can enjoy from the update yesterday!

The Highlights of Preludes 16 for Soulframe

The update’s highlights sound few, but are very big for the game. For starters, the biggest and most anticipated feature is the new quest to bond with your character’s puppy. This is in preparation for the ability to use it as a mount later in the year. You can choose to play games with it, travel with it, or go into battle, all of which will modify its behavior when it grows up later in the year, potentially in the Warsongs update.

The next is the ability to fish. Fishing will be its own robust mini-game that you can either harvest the fish or heal the corruption they have and throw them back. Soulframe also has a new weather system that will change what fish are available depending on the time of day as well.

The weather system that was added to the game causes the world to change from night to day, make’s it rain, and even has thunderstorms or rainbows. It is a wonderful touch to make the game’s world feel more alive. Not only that, but you can now use revive shrines in the open world and dungeons to matchmake with fellow envoys. Allowing for co-op play on demand without having to necessarily talk to people!

Finally, Tuvalkane, your blacksmith, can now manually add tempers to your weapons. You will have to break down weapons with her so she can learn the tempers, then use Lampyrite to add those tempers to your weapons. Each weapon’s rarity will also limit how many tempers you can add at once. They also added 3 new weapons to the game, including:

  • A new Rapier.
  • An Ode Staff.
  • And a new Heavy Mace.

But this is all for Preludes in Soulframe. You can find the full patch notes here for more details.
