Ubisoft Leak - April Fools

Ubisoft games have a funny way of becoming public. Whether it was last year’s Prince of Persia leak. Assassins Creed leaks through plane trips and cafes. Or members of the press knowing more about the inner workings of the company than its own management. So back in January when Ubisoft announced a new partnership with Disney on a Star Wars title, it was surprising to find out the old fashion way. So now that we know, it will be just a matter of time before new details on the Star Wars game begin to surface.

With the announcement of the untitled Star Wars game, we did learn that it is being developed by Ubisoft Massive. The team behind Far Cry 3 and for the past seven years, The Division franchise. So from that alone, we know; there will be guns, online live service elements, and open-world RPG elements. Due to online-related balancing and character creation, it is safe to assume that either everyone is going to be a Jedi. Or nobody is going to be a Jedi. So we are talking about a Bounty-Hunter-Tom-Clancy-like 3rd person shooter. Or a game set in the Old Republic era, when Jedi were more common.

Ubisoft Star Wars Leak April Fools

Unfortunately for Ubisoft, a Parler account has posted images of what appears to be notes of the new Star Wars live service game. Ubisoft has yet to confirm the authenticity of the images. Although there is good reason to believe their validity. Parler user, ReganStarWarsFan2 claims to have discovered the notes at a diner in the vicinity of the Ubisoft Massive offices. Notably, similar note pads have been discovered to contain lore and story beats from other open-world Ubisoft games. Games like Watchdogs, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint and, The Crew 2.

While we will have to wait much longer for a meaningful update from Ubisoft, this might be enough to satiate hungry Star Wars fans. Electronic Arts still holds the keys to all AAA Star Wars games. We may not hear about the Ubisoft Star Wars game until 2023 or maybe even 2024. In spite of any leaks that might be out in the wild. This leaked notepad may be all we get for the foreseeable future.
