Marvel’s Phase 4 Coming to 2021: Upcoming Movies
Marvel’s Phase 4 has started with WandaVision on Disney+. We haven’t had a movie since 2019 and fans are hungry for some content. The first movie to be released is going to be Black Widow. Let’s take a look at the Marvel movies that will be coming out this year.
This first movie has been moved around multiple times. In fact, at one point Disney said that they wouldn’t be releasing this movie on Disney+. That tune changed with the success of Mulan and Raya and the Last Dragon.
Black Widow – July 9th
Fans have been asking for a solo Black Widow movie for years. With the movie being pushed back to 2021 fans had to wait until WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier were released to start Phase 4. This film will be released in theaters and on Disney+ Premier Access.
Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings – September 3rd
The second Marvel’s Phase 4 movie to be released this year is Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings. This movie was originally going to be released on July 9th but was pushed back to September. A teaser trailer was released a few weeks ago along with a synopsis. This is the movie that I’m really excited to see this year.
Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization.
Eternals – November 5th
One of the more anticipated movies of the year is Eternals. With a large cast of characters, this looks like it will be one of the best Marvel movies in years. Given that director Chloé Zhao recently won an Oscar, the expectations are through the roof. Sadly we still haven’t been given any trailer for the film. Just leaked images of possible toys.
Marvel Studios’ Eternals features an exciting new team of Super Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, the Deviants.
Spider-Man: No Way Home – December 17th
We have only been given a few images of some of the characters for Spider-Man: No Way Home. The story is still under wraps, some rumors have gotten out about what will happen. Right now it’s just best to wait and see how Marvel markets this movie. At some point in the next couple of months, we should have a teaser trailer.
These are the Marvel Phase 4 movies that will be coming out this year. The dates can always change so be prepared for anything to happen. A non-phase 4 movie that is almost coming out is Venom Let There Be Carnage, that movie is set for September 24th. We might get a cameo from Spider-Man in that movie.
