Overwatch League is the Esports division of Overwatch 2. Top organizations comprised of the best players worldwide have competed all season long since 2018. The Midseason Madness represents the halfway point of the competitive season and crowns a victor from the top teams of the Spring Stage.
Teams from the League are divided between East and West divisions. Last weekend fans saw a few clashes between these divisions at the Korean Internation Exhibition Center. However, the East division officially fell from grace when Seoul Infernal lost to Florida Mayhem in a close 3-2 match. Thus, Teams of the APAC region failed to compete in the upper bracket.
The competition climaxed with the final match between the Houston Outlaws and Atlanta Reign. Atlanta Reign displayed a dominating performance throughout the competition and continued to do so. They defeated the Houston Outlaws with a 4-1 victory.
Lend Your Support
Their strong backline is one of the key factors that defined the Atlanta Reign’s success. Fielder and Chiyo are two support players who have each other’s backs at all times. The Sombra dive comp is a mainstay amidst the current meta. Targeting the backline with a dive is a key strategy for this comp. However, this proved difficult, impossible at times, when both supports can fend off the dive or until reinforcements arrive.

Additionally, Stalk3r’s prowess on Tracer proved to be unmatched. His accuracy and execution were terrifying to behold during the Midseason Madness. The newcomer, D0nghak, on tank even proved to be a formidable addition to the Atlanta Reign.
Previously, he was an unknown competitor from the Contenders division. He proved his prowess with his Winston last weekend along with working in tandem with his team. Overall, the synergy of Atlanta Reign propels them leagues (pun intended) above the rest of the competition. However, this is the Overwatch League, where an upset can be just around the corner.
