The summer gaming conference and convention season is in full force. Although the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) was officially canceled this year, plenty of other showcases quickly filled the void. Chiefly, Geoff Keighley, the showrunner of The Game Awards, is leading the pack with his Summer Game Fest showcase, which includes over two hours of game announcements. Among them comes a new look at Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis.
When Worlds Collide
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is an upcoming mobile game from Square Enix. Previously, Sony announced the title at their State of Play in 2021. There, the gameplay revealed a stylized adaptation of titles within the universe of Final Fantasy VII.
However, the new footage shown tells a different story. Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis follows suit in the possibility of alternate timelines and secret histories. The Summer Game Fest trailer features a new SOLDIER unit led by Glenn.
This marks the first appearance of the character along with his interactions with Sephiroth. Additionally, Square Enix teased fans with new looks for Cloud and company inside Ever Crisis. The release date is unknown. However, fans can pre-register now. Android users who pre-register will gain access to the Closed Beta Test on July 7th.
