PAX East 2025 – Moonlight Peaks Preview

It’s that time of year again! The Lords are at PAX East once more, and we are covering multiple exciting announcements, reveals, and more.

One of the many exciting games at the show is Moonlight Peaks. This moody, cozy game was featured in the Marvelous/XSEED booth, and after playing through the 15-minute demo, here are my impressions!

What is Moonlight Peaks?

In a moonlit peak, home to vampires and other spooks of the night, players take the role of a new vampire in town. Players grow the best magical crops, design the best vampire lair, and form friendships with their townmates to make a name for themselves in Moonlight Peaks.

Demo Impressions

My 15-minute demo session had me play as a cute vampire, leaving their home and exploring the surrounding area. Being a vampire, your night can only last so long. Each night is 15 minutes of gameplay, having players dig, farm, and more.

I was reminded of Animal Crossing during my demo session. I say that because of how cozy it felt. Unlike in Rune Factory or Story of Seasons, the limited ‘pressure’ to get things done isn’t felt here. Meaning, you can relax and smell the roses.

I spent longer trying to catch bugs and butterflies than actively getting materials for the sole mission the demo asked me to complete. Overall, I enjoyed the calm, casual nature this game offered.

Closing Thoughts on Moonlight Peaks

Reflecting on my time with the game, it’s clear that Moonlight Peaks is meant to be the ultimate cozy game. Sure, has spooky creatures roaming around and a promise of deeper town and relationship-building elements. But if the demo implied anything, it’s that the game is one that you can get lost in, doing your own thing.

Games like Animal Crossing are the masters of that style of game. So seeing Moonlight Peaks somewhat match that energy is exciting. The game releases in 2026 on PC.

If anything in this preview encouraged you to visit the peaks, try the game yourself via the game’s free Steam Demo! Stay tuned for additional PAX East coverage here at Lords of Gaming.
