Omikron: The Nomad Soul Sees Spike In Sales

In June of 2000 developer Quantic Dream and publisher Eidos Interactive released Omikron: The Nomad Soul for the Sega Dreamcast. Following the COVID-19 Omicron variant, wise guy Sega collectors have moved on copies of the game.

According to PriceCharting.com the average “complete in box” price was at a modest $13.78 in 2013. In 2015 a sealed copy of Omikron was going for around $18. Today a CIB copy of the game is worth over $70. Likewise, A sealed copy of the game is selling for $100.

Omikron: The Nomad Soul is your typical adventure game from Quantic Dream. They are known for their work in games like Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain. The highlight of this Dreamcast release was the inclusion of David Bowe, his band, and his wife Iman Abdulmajid. The soundtrack features eight original Bowe songs. David Cage spent over 30 hours in motion capture with Bowe while he performed the tracks. 

In 2016 sales of the game spiked following the passing of David Bowie. Omikron: The Nomad Soul seems to be tied to a run of unfortunate events.
