May contain spoilers for previous games! So N7 Day 2022 has come and gone. Fans of the highly acclaimed Mass Effect have been talking and speculating about the little teaser we got. I am going to go speculate about the N7 Day content fans received and try to decipher what the teaser might mean.

N7 Day 2022

With the next Mass Effect game so far out no one expected much to happen on this year’s N7 Day on November 7th. Everyone was calm up until the point we got 2 words from Jennifer Hale in response to someone asking about N7 Day. The 2 words we got from the female Shepard voice actor were:

Stay Tuned…

That got people talking about possibilities, but most agreed we might just get some concept art. Well, we got a little extra than that and something cool. First, fans got a reveal of some of the team working on the next Mass Effect with some small facts about them. Some of the people they introduced were Mike Gamble, Danielle Enns, Mary De Marle, and Parrish Ley. People at Bioware and Maxis both have a love for Mass Effect and The Sims so they decided to release some free items for The Sims 4. On November 17th they will be releasing N7 Day-themed wearable items that everyone can get for free.

From the Bioware gear store to Dark Horse and more, they will be bringing some goodies to fans who want to add some more stuff to their collections or their wardrobe even. For people looking to jump into The Mass Effect Legendary Edition on PC, there is currently a sale on the EA app and on Steam that ends November 11th. Then we got a coded intercepted transmission that didn’t take very long for the rabid fans to decode, so I’ll share both with you! First is the coded message here:

Then finally after someone decoded the message we got to hear this:

Mass Effect N7 Day 2022: Transmission With Hidden Message, Concept Art & The Sims 4 Crossover Content Revealed

Thoughts and Theories

Now, as someone who loves Mass Effects myself, I have my thoughts about the teaser. Keep in mind these are just thoughts and NOT confirmed to be happening. After the message was decoded we know Liara was talking to some form of a Geth, and whatever it was the council was going to be mad about it. At the end of Mass Effect 3, we got three separate endings which most didn’t like at all. The canon ending to most is what is called the “Destroy Ending,” so my thoughts are after the human race was finally ascending on the citadel and getting a human to the council they aren’t happy about something. What aren’t they happy about?

Initially, my thought was they found out Commander Shepard is still alive out there somewhere. After the ship crashed there was hope that he could still be alive, and I believe he is. One of the teases we have is an image of Liara holding a piece of what looks like Shepard’s N7 armor. So I believe Liara and others are looking for him and he’s either lost or captured. After talking with a good friend and huge Mass Effect fan SloMoBackSlap I’m actually believing more of my theory. Obviously, humans are doing something the council won’t like. SloMo thought what if they are building their own Mass Effect relay?

So I thought to myself what if Shepard is in another part of the galaxy and the only way to get there is to build their own relay? What if Liara and another Geth character might have decided to save Commander Shepard by using a human-made relay? Maybe they know a way to find Shepard which requires a relay.

Wrap-Up

Now, this is only just speculation, and nothing is confirmed yet. I do believe Shepard will be in the next game in some capacity. Also, don’t forget to get your N7 Day stuff in The Sims 4 on November 27th. Remember to check out the stores where you can get all your Mass Effect-related swag. Everyone should check out The Mass Effect Legendary Edition as well. Time will only tell what the team will reveal when they are ready to show something. One thing is for sure I will see you next N7 Day!
