It is nearly impossible to tell what might end up scaling its way up the sales charts on Steam every week. For the past few weeks, Hogwarts Legacy has dominated a top spot just on pre-orders alone. This is thanks to an extended look at the game provided by the developers which has raised confidence in the title overall. Then of course you will have your regular high performers such as Call Of Duty, Counter-Strike, and more. It is safe to say, you generally have to have a good marketing build-up to release in order to find success in this highly competitive gaming market. However, it appears that Hi-Fi Rush from Tango Gameworks is attempting to buck that trend.
Hi-Fi Rush Shadow Dropped On A Wednesday
Hi-Fi Rush is a colorful rhythm action game that harkens back to the Sega Dreamcast classic Jet Set Radio. Officially revealed and released during Xbox’s Developer Direct Showcase earlier this week. Hi-Fi Rush launched on Xbox consoles and PCs just moments after the showcase ended while it was still very fresh in people’s minds. It has taken social media by storm with both fans and media quickly becoming enamored with the game. The shocking part is that despite it launching day one on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. It has quickly scaled its way up the Steam charts.
Officially landing at number 5 on the charts above such heavy hitters as Fifa 23 and Destiny 2. There is no doubt that Tango Gameworks has a hit on its hand if these charts and social media tracking is anything to be believed. People are playing and loving this colorful rhythm game from the same studio that created the iconic horror IP The Evil Within. It is great to see a studio step outside of its comfort zone and be rewarded in a big way. Hopefully, we will hear more about the success of this game in the coming weeks.
