Last night, during Tokyo Game Show 2024, Digital Extremes hosted Devstream 181 infront of a live audience. Showing off everything you need to know about the next major update, Koumei and The Five Fates. As well as the long desired and awaited Caliban Rework and a first for Digital Extremes major expansions to Warframe, a fully playable Warframe: 1999 demo that are all dropping next month. But two other big highlights of this stream were reworks for the Nova warframe, and a breakdown of the second part of the one for companions.

Rework for Nova Details

For starters, her passive will now give enemies a chance to drop a health orb when they affected by her ultimate ability if it is tuned to slowing them down. With a chance to drop an energy orb if they are sped up. All of her abilities will now deal blast damage but here are the changes for every ability:

  • Her first ability, Null Star, will now have its damage reduction be affected by power strength. It can now be recasted and the base number of orbs spawned will be increased.
  • Her second ability, Antimatter Drop, can now be controlled directionally by where you are aiming your reticle. You can also recast it if you need to. The base damage is being increased and it will absorb more damage.
  • Her third ability, Wormhole, will now have a set number of charges for each portal. If you hold the cast button, you can see where the portal will take you.
  • Finally, her ultimate ability, Molecular Prime, can now be held to cast the speed up version of the ability, or casted normally to slow enemies down. All increases to damage will affect shields and overguard as well.

You can watch the full video of Game Director Pablo Alonso showing off the changes in full here.

Companions Rework 2.0 Part 2 for Warframe Details

Going alongside the Nova, and Caliban reworks is the second phase of the Companions rework. This picks up where the first phase of the Companions rework left off last year, including the following:

  • A new “Lucky Catch” mod is being added to the game for all beast companions, including Kubrows and Kavats. The mod will now have a chance to increase resource or credit gains while in a mission. This is replacing the Smeeta Charm passive ability and will now have a clear indicator when this mod activates.
  • Smeeta kavats will now have increases to other buffs provided by Charm.
  • Beast companions, such as Kavats and Kubrows will now have a separate modable weapon slot for their claws to allow for streamlined modding for pets.
  • There will be new stance mods that change the behavior of every beast companion, as well as all new mods to change damage output.
  • On top of this, every precept for beast companions for now be getting overhauled.
  • Sentinels will also be getting some love with stat increases and improvements to their weapons in general.

Wukong Nerfs, and Hildryn Buffs

Wukong has seen a range of changes in recent years. So much so that Ember feels like she came out of the nerf-then-buff situation better than she went in. But for Wukong, in Koumei and The Five Fates, he will be receiving the following nerfs:

  • Cloud Walker cannot be activated again until heavy slam animations are completed.
  • Celestial Stomp can no longer stun crown control immune enemies.

But on the bright side, Hildryn will be getting a few buffs, including:

  • Hildryn’s Balefire charger weapon will now deal more damage when charged up and eat less of your shields when firing.
  • When you deactivate Aegis Storm, Hildryn will now be invincible for a short duration.

However, these are all of the other reworks coming in Warframe on October 2nd. Koumei and The Five Fates will have a little bit of everything for everyone, and will no doubt change the game immensely.
