The latest Devstream for Warframe has just wrapped up on all official channels for Digital Extremes. This Devstream was more of a somber look back on Warframe: 1999 and Techrot Encore. As well as a lot of teases on what lies ahead in future updates, with some stuff to look forward to in April. From exciting new alerts to fight the Wolf of Saturn Six, to new Deluxe Skins and reworks for old bosses, here is everything from Devstream 186!
The Spring in Warframe Has Sprung
Kicking off the Devstream, they went over a few minor items. Such as the first official Youtooz figurine for the Lotus being available for pre-order, and the TennoCon 2025 Digital Pack going live today. The Digital Pack comes with a very cool new cape that lights up with a special emote. This pack is only $24.99 USD and also comes with a lot of platinum to enjoy in Warframe.

There is also a new general survey for direct feedback you can give to Digital Extremes that you can find more information on here. They also showed their excitement over Devstream 188, which is going to be a live presentation on May 10th at PAX East. While details on this upcoming Devstream are still elusive, the team did tease it will be the biggest show they’ve done at PAX East.
Before they moved onto their retrospective on Warframe: 1999, they did showcase some gameplay of Warframe running on a Google Pixel 9. This hopefully put fans minds at ease over whether or not the Android version of the game was in a playable state. They also announced that a slew of tactical alerts with a guaranteed fight against the Wolf of Saturn Six are coming in April. These alerts will give guaranteed drops on the Wolf Sledge parts and blueprint, allowing players who are struggling to get this weapon a chance to earn theirs.
A Look Back on Warframe: 1999
There is no denying that Warframe: 1999 completely altered the perspective around Warframe and Digital Extremes in ways most never expected. It was the grittiest, coolest and with the help of Techrot Encore, the most feature complete expansion that they have ever released (while maintaining the usual price tag of free). As they looked back, they showed off concept art all the way from 2023 of the first sketches of what became Arthur. With so much reflection of how it went from rough sketches all the way to the Gemini skin concept and creation for the cast of the Hex.
Steve Sinclair, the CEO of Digital Extremes also shared his fondness of the presentation for Neci Rusalka of the Scaldra faction. Calling her his “favorite” while everyone else started teasing that more of her story could come in the future. But this segment was also filled with an apology for the Warframe community. Both Warframe: 1999 and Techrot Encore may have come with an incredible amount of content, but also an incredible number of bugs.

They did say they are still working on fixing a lot of the issues the community is facing, and there will no doubt be more hotfixes starting next week. They are also aware of the feedback of Umbral mods not working with Omni Forma and there is a conversation going on about it. As well as the team wanting to add bonus rewards for helping other players with their Technocyte Coda fights, similar to the Sisters of Parvos.
New Deluxe Skins and Community Q&A
Finally, to cap off the stream, they showcased two new Deluxe Skins. One for Citrine, which looks spectacular, and her crystals will be shaped like crystals with it on.
But the one that really stole the spotlight (for me, atleast) was the upcoming Kullervo Deluxe. This skin will be reportedly shipping with an “unannounced update” later in the year.
There will also be reworks to bosses and beginner areas that will be arriving sometime in the future. Captain Vor, for example, will have multiple arena changes, and the asteroid grineer tileset will have grittier lighting.
Finally, they ended the stream by answering some questions from the community:
- They might look into adding Omnia void fissure missions in Warframe: 1999.
- The next Heirloom skin is getting shown on Devstream 188.
- There is still no confirmation on when you can fight the third Spider in Fortuna.
- Arcanes for Archguns is still up in the air.
As the stream came to a close, Steve brought up that last year was the biggest year for Warframe in its now 12-year history. Which may be due to the release of Warframe: 1999, all of the great updates like Jade Shadows, Dante Unbound, and Koumei and the Five Fates in-between. While keeping the hype up and maintaining transparency in every Devstream and Devshort they do. It will never be down to just one action, but the culmination of many with a community that feels rewarded and excited with their current direction as a company.
