Phasmophobia Updates: Haptics Suits and More
PlayersKinetic Games has been hard at work updating Phasmophobia these last few weeks. There have been two major updates and several minor ones in the past month. While the latest major update is only available on the beta servers still, it shows a lot of promise.
New Haptic Suits and More Introduced in Phasmophobia
The first major update, which is live in all versions of the game, includes haptics suit support. This is a big one as it means ghosts can now touch players. Ghosts are already plenty frightening in Phasmophobia. Not only do they physically look scary, but they can crawl, groan, throw objects, and more. Now all of that fear will be getting a new layer for players that own haptics suits. It will be interesting going forward to see how touch adds more fear to the game. More additions from this update include new objectives, a stats screen, and more. You can read all about it here.
The beta update that has just gone live also brings a bevy of new features. While this update may not seem as flashy as haptics suit support, there are some excellent new features. For one thing, player volume control has been added to the lobby screens. This also carries over between games. It makes adjusting the in-game voice chat much easier. More hiding places have been added to maps as well, which is great because some ghost behavior has changed.
All ghosts except for Revenants now move faster as hunts progress if they can see you. They also have a chance to remember where they saw you hide in the last hunt. Hiding in the same place twice in a row is now a bad idea. This is why the addition of new hiding places is great. Especially since furniture can now break the line of sight for ghosts. Players who talk during hunts should be careful as well as ghosts are now better at finding them. Read the full list of features in the beta Phasmophobia update.
